Spiderman Reinvented

Most know this, but my kids love to dress up and they like put a new twist on things. These kids are silly...they make me laugh.

Aithen and More Summer Fun

After Sean picked up the kids, we ate lunch and then Aithen came over to play with Blake. Austin wasn't having a good day so he didn't stay to play. The boys played lots.

Aithen is 3 months older then Blake...he was trying so hard to be super tall for the pic. They played for 3 hours then the Activity Day girls came over for a swim party, which we joined because we hadn't been swimming all day. The girls didn't mind. It's fun to get to know some of the primary girls more. That night we went and talked to 2 of our neighbors about getting the fence replaced and those 2 are up for splitting the costs....yippy! This whole thing is actually a huge headache so I will be happy when it is done.

Thursday we went over to Brexton , Macie and Baby Brian's new house. They moved to the neighboring city which means they aren't in our ward and aren't going to the same school next year, but at least they are still close enough. We spent most of the day with them. We swam at their community pool for several hours. (Do you notice a theme? We swim every day because that is the only thing to do in the afternoons here outside)

Friday I had my car serviced and we did some things around the house and  then we went swimming. AND Dylan swam by himself. He can go about half the pool length by himself and it isn't super graceful, but he can do it. Now he wants to spend even more time in the pool and has very little fear now. My goal was to have him swimming by the end of the summer and it looks like we will make that goal.

Saturday we went over to Max and Sadie's house to play and for me to Visit Teach. We also did some yard work. We went swimming and showed Aaron the progress Dylan has made with swimming.

Sunday was church. No new Bishop yet. In ward council Bishop basically said it will be July 12 when the new one is called. It is kind of a pain to plan baptisms, etc because we don't know what availability of the new Bishopric will be. Poor Bishop...he has so much on his plate, but it looks like he will be the Bishop until the day he moves.

Baby Ledger

Last Monday we went visiting teaching and  then we had lots of fencing people come over to give us quotes. Tuesday we had a presidency meeting at my house in the morning because my secretary wasn't working that day and we wanted to get a meeting in before Cambria's doctors appointment. I watched her kids while she went to the doctor. She came back and she was at a 6 and the doctor was sending her to the hospital. So.....we had a slumber party that night. We played more and we went swimming and ate dinner.

I asked Beckett what they were going to name their baby brother and he responded with, "Fat Boy".  Well, we got the kids to bed and Cambria and I were texting, but then they stopped at about 9:20. Then at 10pm I get a text from her hubby with a picture of their baby. She pushed for 10 minutes. Ledger Snow Neumann was 9 pounds 3 ounces--2 weeks earlier. He is a big boy.

The next morning when the kids woke up I showed them the picture of their new baby brother and this was their reaction. When I told them the name, Kelsey said, "I don't like Ledger...it is hard for me to say." Snow is a family name...for those who care.

We went to the park after we ate and played. Then Sean came and got the kids and took them to the hospital. Her delivery went fast but things were crazy afterwards for her, but she is doing much better now. Glad everyone is okay and home.

Angie's Visit

Right when we got home from camp, Angie came. Angie is a former co-worker of mine from CA. She moved to Austin and last year we stopped by her place on our way home from our trip to San Antonio. She changed jobs earlier this year and there was a conference near us, so once the conference wrapped up on Friday she came over to our house. She brought gummy bears for the boys so they were instant friends with Angie. We went swimming and then we had some dinner, but then Angie had to take off. It was great to catch up with Angie. Thanks for visiting!

Last day of Camp

Friday was Blake's last day of camp. He loved the camp and now he is super excited to play soccer in the fall. Coach Katy was great and super patient. Blake is really fast, but we need to work on his coordination. Blake is sitting next to Colin.

Sports Camp

This week Blake was in a sports camp. Dylan was supposed to be in one last week, but there weren't enough kids so he is doing it in August instead. It was from 9-12 all week. The first day Blake made an instant friend with Colin. The great thing was he had a little brother who is 3. At pick up on Monday we planned going with Colin and his brother and mom to the pool next to the gym the following day. Just as planned, we went over to the pool, but about 20 minutes after we got there, it started to pour rain. We went home. I really thought the storms were done, but we had plenty of rain the rest of the week. Wednesday and Thursday were bad.  I had more people come out to give me bids for fence and roof. It is such a pain. I will be glad when it is all done.

Cambria's Baby Shower

Last Saturday we had a baby shower at our house for Cambria. Cambria is Beckett and Kelsey's mom and also my 1st counselor in Primary. I love Cambria and her family!  My friend Jessie and I hosted but Jessie picked yellow as the color.

One of our friends Jessica made this cake. It was tasty too! We had a fun shower. Now we are just waiting for her little guy to make his appearance.

Perot Museum

The day after the library program, we finally had our insurance company adjuster out for our house. It was a nightmare. One prospective contractor for us showed up, which normally is no problem, but well, the insurance company and the contractor got in a fight--verbal not physical. It was a complete disaster and huge headache. I totally felt like their mom trying to break up the fight. I will spare you the details...you're welcome.

The next day, Thursday, the boys went over to their friends house while my friend came over to make the final plans for Cambria's baby shower that we were having at my house a couple days later.

Friday morning we all needed a break and headed to the Perot. It was fun! Blake was determined to beat the TRex in the race...Dylan wasn't as focused.

They loved doing their art projects.

And digging for dinos.

One of their new favorite things are the robots. Some of these you program them and then see the program in action with the robot.

They played on the frogs before we headed home.

Library Program

Monday morning we did some school work and then some roofers came over to check out our roof. We have had several come over for estimates. This guy said we didn't need to replace the entire roof, but we already had the adjuster scheduled for Wednesday so we said we would see what they said and go from there. It took almost 3 weeks for the adjuster to come out because that's just how busy they are. Anyway we were supposed to have friends over, but they ended up taking a 3 hour nap. Wow....when was the last time my kids took a 3 hour nap?

Tuesday we did school work and then we went to the library for their program. It was a circus thing so he had dogs, which Dylan loved, he had birds and lots of other tricks that he did.

He even rode on a unicycle. It was okay...it was about 15 minutes too long (total time was 45 minutes).

We then went home and our friends came over. They are moving so we played while the mom went home to get the final things packed because they moved later that night. Aaron was in Florida this week so he wasn't able to help them move.  Aren't we awesome friends? Oh well, at least we helped a little. We are going to miss them being so close to us.  After they left, we went swimming. We basically spend most of the afternoons now in the pool. It has been so hot and the pool is fabulous. Dylan is so close to swimming on his own.

Birthday Parties

Saturday morning we went to Home Depot for the monthly project. Then we went to the park/splash pad for Kyler's birthday party. Dylan woke up grumpy this day so he didn't have much fun at the party, so I basically held him while Blake played and I talked to my friends.

We then came home, ate lunch and then headed to the beach club for Ashley's birthday party. We were there for about 5 minutes and then the lifeguards blew the whistle telling everyone to get out. They pulled a little girl limp out of the pool. The paramedics arrived after the lifeguards administered CPR and the girl was fine. There were so many people there! I had to rescue one kid, but nothing dramatic like the little girl...he happened to be right next to me and I saw him go under so I pulled him up. Aside from the craziness, it was a fun party. Aaron missed all the excitement because he had to stay home to work on a lesson for church...or that was maybe just his excuse for not going. We had other friends at the party next to ours so it was fun to talk with them too....even if we had just seen them at the party earlier in the day.

Library Day

After we went swimming on Friday, we went to the library. They were kicking off the summer reading program. The theme this year is superhero which the boys are excited about. They had the local superheros there. We picked up a popsicle and then checked out the visitors.

We got to see a police motorcycle.

Then a police car.

Then the fire truck.

They got to sit in the back of the police car.

Talked to the EMT guys. We thanked them all for their service and told them all that we hope to never need any of them...and then we gave them high fives.

This last one was something I wasn't expecting, it is the tactical team. In hostage situations they bring this truck for the negotiator and team to use. I think this was the first time I saw one in real life.

Heard Museum

Friday was the first day of summer for us. We started the day with some school work and then we headed to the Heard. I was curious about how the weather had effected the place. In ward council we had discussed how there were a lot of copperheads out. So, the boys know to stay on the trails, but I might have made them be extra careful of things. Blake then started to freak out about everything and then eventually let Dylan lead the way.

The water levels were much higher then normal, but they had gone down since a week previous.
The turtles were still there though.

And the plants had gone crazy. They grew so much with all this rain.

The butterflies are back and they were so pretty.

We ate lunch and then played at the treehouses.

About 1.5 miles into our 2.5 mile hike, Dylan was in the lead and almost stepped on a copperhead. Dylan froze and he ran over to me. The snake wouldn't move. I put Dylan in the jogger, Blake on the other side of the trail where the snake wasn't and ran as fast as we could. I did not get a picture of the snake on the trail, but we got a picture of Dylan with a copperhead when we went inside the museum...but this one was behind glass.

We got nice and hot so when we got home, we went swimming.
