Trip to CA Day 2 Part 2

Here are some more pictures of SeaWorld. First we saw the dolphin show.

Then the sea lion show, which is always funny.

Then the killer whales. I'm guessing this will be the last time we get to see the killer whales and I am super sad that SeaWorld can only use the whales they have now and cannot continue helping new killer whales. I think these animals are really cool.

We then saw the Pets Rule show. It is impressive what these animals can do.

This pretty much captures this show--pretty impressive.

Trip to CA Day 2

Day 2 we went to SeaWorld in San Diego. It was a little warm, but we managed. The shows were fun and the animals were entertaining.

Did some rides.

We stayed the whole day and then ate dinner at Costco on our way home.

Trip to CA Day 1

July 24 we left for CA. We didn't think we would be going to CA this year because my parents were on a mission, but they called us a few months ago and said the mission president was fine with us coming out for a little bit. My parents are living at home and working in the mission office.

They picked us up from the airport, we went to their house to have lunch, then went to the beach. On the way home from the beach, we stopped to have Cafe Rio for dinner. We love Cafe Rio and we don't have one by us. The beach was fun. The waves were crazy, but we still went in, played in the sand and collected seashells.

Kelsey's Baptism

July 21--Kelsey was baptized! It was great and Beckett sat with us the whole time. This was the only picture I took of the day. Kelsey had invited her teachers from school and some neighbors and they all came.

Ninja Warrior

July 14--a Saturday that we didn't have a track meet. The Webbers came over to swim, which was fun.

The boys went over to Reese's house this week.

Kelsey was being baptized so they had lots of family come to town, so we had Cambria's parents come stay at our house. They are lovely and fun. They got to our house around 9:30pm and then Cambria picked them up at 8:15 the next morning. Super easy.

On Friday, July 20 we went to Ninja Warrior. We have been trying to set up a play date with both Blake's best buddies--Avir and Kenny, but Kenny has been out of town for awhile, so we decided to meet up with Avir and then try to get together with Kenny and Avir the week before school starts.

Avisha (Avir's sister) came along too and so did Dylan. It was so hot, but they had fun.

Yep, it was hot.

Track Regionals

July 13 the boys had their regional track meet. It was about an hour east of our house. The boys could only do 2 events each, so Dylan did the 50 and 100 and Blake did the 100 and 200. We arrived at the meet around 9:45 only to discover that the meet from the day before had been canceled because of those bad storms so all those events that were supposed to happen the day before were happening that day along with all the other races already planned. We knew it would be a long day.

We saw Kaeler though and spent a lot of time talking him and his dad. His dad had to take some calls for work, so Kaeler hung out with us.

It was such a hot day so we stayed in the shade.

And then here he is waiting. They messed up on his heat, so he was left without anyone to race. Since it is regionals and everything has to be done officially, they took about 10 minutes to get him registered in a new heat. This was the slowest moving race ever--did we complain? sure did.

Then Dylan ran the 100.

Next Blake ran the 100.

After each race, they displayed your name and then time. The top 6 finishers in each group went to stake finals. Neither of the boys qualified, but that was fine because we knew we would be in CA anyway and wasn't planning on going.

Next Blake raced in the 200.

Regionals was where all the serious people were, so it was some tough competition, but the boys did fine. We didn't get home until 6:30pm, so it was a long day and the boys didn't complain.

Summer Storms

We had Reese over to play in the morning and then in the afternoon, this is what the sky looked like. Didn't capture it too well, but it was very dark and stormy. Aaron was trying to fly home from NY this day but the flight was canceled because of the storms. He ended up getting in on a different flight on a different airline much later, but he made it.
