Birthday Dinner

Birthday tradition is you get to pick a place to eat at for dinner. Since Sunday and Monday are the only soccer free days, we did Blake's birthday dinner on Monday. He picked Nom Noms, which is close to our house and is similar to Cafe Rio. As we were finishing, it started to rain and then hail really bad. It was a fun drive home...glad it was close.

Tuesday I went to help out in Blake's classroom. Friday they are going on a field trip, but siblings can't come, so I am not able to go with. So instead I had my friend Cambria scheduled to watch Dylan while I helped out, but Beckett got pick eye the day before, so Aaron watched him instead. It was fun to see Blake and his classmates.

Group Date Night

Saturday night we had our Group Date Night. After Aaron and I played Laser Tag, we told Sean (who usually coordinates these) that we needed to do this for our next group date. A lot of people were out of town, but those who were able to go had a blast.

This is Sean and Cambria--Beckett's parents.

Kami and Greg

Brett and Melody--Colton's parents

We totally dominated other teams. It was so much fun.

Soccer

Saturday morning Blake had pictures. We never buy them and I was dealing with Dylan while Aaron took pictures, so hopefully he will post some. Right after we had a game and it was chilly.

We had a break in between games so we went home and ate. We then went back for Dylan's game. None of the moms wanted to pay for pictures, so we tried to get a picture before the game...and we will try to get one next week.

With Coach Jonathan. Great Coach. The boys love him.

Dylan scored 3 goals.

My folks recently went to Utah and made a stop at the BYU bookstore and picked these up for the boys.

Aaron Update:  Here are some pics from Blake's team:

Cowboy Park

Friday we went to the library and then we went to the park on our way to Costco.

Play Street Museum

Last Thursday we went with some friends to a place called Play Street Museum. The kids loved the place. It is smaller, but still had plenty for them to do and I loved it because it was about 7 minutes from our house.

A little ice cream parlor.

Huge hit--milking the cow. (Water comes out)

I didn't get many pictures, especially with his friends, but here are Beckett and Ledger. Khloe was also there.

Us moms thought this was so clever. Remember Lite Brites? This is a huge one...so no tiny pieces for kids to choke on.

Dylan took my camera again when we got home and took a picture of the pinch pot that he made the day before at school.

That night we had Dylan's soccer practice. While Dylan practiced, Blake and I ran laps around the field. A couple nights before, I had put them to bed, but I could hear Blake jumping around in his room. What was he doing? Well, he was exercising. Doing squats, crunches, burpees, etc. He did it again on Wednesday night. He had soccer practice for an hour both those nights, but apparently he wants more, so we ran. I thought it was hilarious because well, I wasn't expecting that at all and also it made me realize that they would probably really like us to follow through on our idea of making the guest bedroom into an exercise room...but leave a bed for when we have guests.

More Parks

Wednesday night is Blake's soccer practice with his rec team. I rarely get to watch any of it because I go with Dylan to play at the park. My kids aren't good at sitting and watching others practice. I guess if I was a kid with the option of watching a practice or playing at the park I know which one I would pick.

Enjoying the Sun

Last Tuesday was a beautiful day.  Aaron was gone most of the week and Dylan needed to get out. I had stuff in the morning to do so around 11 we went to the park right by Blake's school because I was lazy and didn't feel like driving far. When we got there we saw the entire 1st grade running. After they were done running, Blake came over and told us that he was doing a fitness test. So it was fun, we got to see him and his buddies.

Here they are heading back to class with their PE coaches.

After we had lunch, we went outside to play some more.

I was vacuuming my car and I saw this. Dylan had created his own obstacle course.

After we picked up Blake from school, we did homework, then picked up Blake's friend Colton and took the boys to soccer practice. One of the boys on Blake's team, his dad is a coach for FC Dallas. The boy has been begging his dad to coach his team, so they created this. We practice right next to the FC Dallas stadium on the FC Dallas practice fields. This is super cool for the boys. The coach charges next to nothing so Blake decided he wanted to give it a try. We carpool with Colton to make everyone's lives easier.

Dylan was bored so he decided to take some pictures.

He got Colton (with orange ball), Blake is cut off on the right. Colton and Blake really liked it.

Soccer

Saturday morning was still a little chilly for Dylan's game. Dylan wasn't feeling it that game.

Right after Dylan's game was Blake's game. Blake is getting much better. We came home and watched conference and did yard work. Conference was great.

Celebration Park

Friday we had planned on going to the park for a playdate with Maci. The weather was so cold and was drizzling a little, but we did it anyway because we hadn't seen these friends in awhile.

We went to the Celebration park.

Aren't they cute?!

On the way home from the park, we stopped up the pictures we ordered for Dylan's room. We had to put them up right when we got home.

That night Blake's school had a carnival, but Blake wanted to go to his soccer clinic. Fine with me to not have to go to a school carnival. Dylan was excited to play with his brother.

Park Fun

This past week was busy. We did lots of yard work. Tuesday we went to the library and then had our lunch with friends. Then Aaron asked if his team who was in town come over for dinner, so that night we had 7 guests over for dinner. It was fun to meet them. Aaron and I also saw Batman vs. Superman last week. I did my VT and visits of the new families and tried to get all my ducks in a row for all these changes. Thursday, after some visits, we meet with our friends for a playdate at the park since it was a nice day. Of course Dylan just played with Beckett. Beckett's brother got tired, so his mom took him home and Beckett stayed with us to play.

Then he came to our house. The kids are so anxious for the pool to warm up.

Later Dylan was walking around with his cell phone. (one that is broken and he plays with). He would say, "Um, please be less loud, I am on a phone call." The things they learn.
