Valentine's Day

Aaron was in Utah for a couple of days, where he was able to see his sister Tiffanie and her husband Kent and then see one of their kids, Taylor at BYU. He got back late the night before Valentine's Day.

After work on Valentine's Day I raced over to the boys' class parties.

Here is Dylan with Mrs. Taylor.

And Blake was playing a Bingo game. After the parties, we came home, ate dinner and then they took me to the airport. I went to CA for a few days while the boys stayed home.

Here is what our Director at preschool did to one of the bathrooms.

Helpers

These kids like to not only eat the food, but also help make food.

Helping Make Brownies

Yesterday Dylan helped me make brownies to take over to our friends house for our ministering game night. We also brought lemon bars. There were 4 families. We played reverse charades. It was a lot of fun.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we had wonderful weather--in the 70s folks. I was running in shorts and short sleeved shirts. Crazy right? But it confused the plants and the animals. Our neighbors tulips started to bloom. Then Tuesday on my walk to get the boys from school I saw a snake--it thought it was done hibernating. Then later that night the boys helped me do some yard work and I saw 2 more snakes. Grrrr. Then Thursday morning, I started my run at 71 degrees, by the time I got home it was 15 degrees cooler, then dropped another 10 degrees in the next hour. Friday morning it was 9 degrees. Crazy change right? The thing I was happy about though was that it got rid of this snakes!!

Last Basketball Games and Dylan Lost 2nd Tooth

Saturday we went and cleaned the church and then went right to Dylan's last game. He had a great game. He made a couple of baskets, but his defense was really great. There was a kid on the other team who was a foot taller than anyone and well, was an amazing player. So, coach made Dylan guard him and Dylan did awesome.

Then we had a celebration afterwards.

Dylan was picked to participate in an activity.

Their coach playing a game.

2 kids were gone. We really liked  the team, especially Coach Dan. He is a great guy. He used to work PWC. We are going to try and get on the same team as him and his son next season.

Then they got to eat cake and a snack. We came home and ate lunch and did some stuff around the house, and ate dinner and then we headed off to

Blake's last basketball game. The team seemed like they were sluggish and baskets just weren't going in. Blake shot a couple, but none went in this time. He was hustling and did great, but the team lost.

We are missing 2 players. There are some really impressive kids on this team--not only are they great basketball players, but they are also have really great character.

That night Dylan's 2nd tooth came out. He was excited!

Dylan Makes His Bed

The boys have to make their bed every day. I went into Dylan's room and found his bed like this. He had made the bed, but put Pikachu on top of the covers with Dylan's sleeping mask and favorite blanket on top. It made me laugh.

Johnson Super Bowl

Super Bowl Sunday was such a nice day. It was in the high 60s, and the low was in the 50s. So after church, we needed to enjoy the "warmth"...it was much warmer then it had recently been.

The boys like to play football with their dad.

Basketball Games and Playdate

Feb. 2 Dylan had a game at 9:30. In the background you can see the coaches for the 2 teams--the one on the right is Dylan's current coach and the one on the left was his coach from the previous season....we played against them. Dylan had an awesome game. He made 5 baskets and had a lot of rebounds, which led to a lot of the fast breaks that he scored on.

After Dylan's game, we came home and got Dylan ready. His friend, Max came and picked him up. His friend wanted to spend the day with him. They went and got pizza, then went to his house and played (legos and basketball), and then they went to a trampoline place, then went to dinner. He got home at 7pm. He was soooo excited to go play with Max. Max is such a great kid and we love his family too. They play so well together.

Blake got to hang out with Aaron and me. We had lunch, watched a movie, and then went to his basketball game. He had a great game. The team also played really well. It was a fun game to watch. They stopped keeping score because we were winning by a lot.

Blake is the fasted kid on his team. His coach gets frustrated with the team because Blake is always the first one to the basket and totally open to take a shot, but the team never looks up to see him. He still had several shots. Last season he was pretty afraid to even take a shot, but not anymore.

After his game, we ran some errands, then Blake picked a burger place to go for dinner. We came home and played some games. Blake kept watching the time..."2 hours until Dylan gets home." He missed his buddy. Kinda cute.

Dylan's Basketball Game

Thursday night Dylan had a game. His coaches were out of town for work, so the wife coached. The kids did great. Dylan made a couple of baskets and had a lot of rebounds.

The other team was pretty good, but we beat them.

Blake Basketball Game

Tuesday night Blake had a basketball game. He did great. It was probably his best game so far. He did a great job on defense, he rebounded and he even made a free throw--swish! His coach is a really good coach, He tries to get the kids to go out of their comfort zone and really try to practice what they need to work on. He made some plays intending to get Blake to make more shots...and he did. It kind of pumped Blake up. There are a couple kids on the team who are just really good kids. They go out of their way to say hi to all the teammates and really encourage others. It makes me happy to see these kids act this way. We need more people like this!
