Rain, Rain Go Away

We had rain for 10 days straight. We got a lot of water. This meant no outdoor recess and all sports being canceled. This left kids with big time cabin fever. So Saturday afternoon (March 3) ended up being nice (other then the huge puddles everywhere), so we went on a bike ride to the park. We ended up seeing a family who used to be in our ward but decided to not come to church anymore. We chatted with them for a little bit. It wasn't awkward at all....hmmm.

Cub Scouts Visit Fire Station

At the end of last month our pack went to the fire station for a visit. One of the fire stations in our city has a little museum with some pretty cool stuff. Dylan really wanted to go too.

We got the whole tour of the fire house too. They were super nice and answered all our questions. It was interesting. I asked how their meals work because I always see them at the grocery store. They all put in $10 at the beginning of the day, then they go grocery shopping and get food for that day. They kind of take turns cooking--pick the person who is either the best at cooking, or get the new guys to do it. The new guys are also responsible for keeping the place clean...which it was. I commented to the fire chief that their place was very clean. By far the #1 cause for a house fire starts in the kitchen.

Thank you to our local fire department. They are amazing people and we sure appreciate what they do!

Dr. Seuss

We had a desserts with dad at work with a Dr. Seuss theme. I took a couple pictures because I thought it was pretty cute.

This is what I worked on. We were given the book that we based our backdrop from. Do you know this book?

Sleeping in a Sleeping Bag

The boys have a list of responsibilities to do every day that also includes how they need to act every day (not hit one another, saying something nice, and not whining, etc). If they do these things then they get a 100. They determined, and Aaron and I agreed that if they get 3 100s in a row that they can sleep on the floor in the sleeping bag. Dylan really is the only one that likes this because Blake has realized that his bed is way more comfortable than the floor.
