Playdate

Monday we cleaned and went to Costco to get some food.

Tuesday morning I had a doctor's appointment and then we picked up Beckett and he played at our house most of the day.

Side note--our governor has now required masks. Grrrrr. I'm so over this Covid thing. Why do our leaders not look at the mortality rate? It is no where near a death sentence. I am glad that people are finally learning that it is important to wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough. You think most people learned this lesson when they were 4 years old....better late then never I suppose.

Trip to Arkansas Day 5

Sunday we had church, ate lunch and then we headed home. There was a decent amount of traffic coming home, but we made it. Thank you for having us Adam and Becki and family. We had a lot of fun! The kids are already asking when we can go again.

That night I found out that our next door neighbor who was in the hospital passed away that day. It is so sad. He was only 45 years old and leaves a great wife and 4 boys. He was loved by everyone and their church has been great bringing over meals, taking the kids places, etc.We are still praying for their family. We miss you Josh!

Trip to Arkansas Day 4-4th of July

July 4--It rained that morning, so I didn't get to go on my run until later. But by that time it was light outside, so I ran on this awesome trail that I wouldn't have done if it was dark. There are some really fun trails there. I came home, we had breakfast and then we headed to a park/hiking/biking place.

We were taking this picture when Becki recognized this group....

The 2 ladies sitting down are David Stott's sisters. David Stott is married to Amy Stott--that is Aaron and Adam's cousin and Amy lives 5 minutes from us. Okay, now that we are all on the same page...Suzanne (The one who has a shirt that matches mine..what?!) lives in Bentonville. The other sister lives in Virginia but was visiting. I met them all when they were all out for Benjamin's blessing, so it was fun to see them again. They told me that they will be out again for Landon's baptism this year, so that will be fun to see them again. We had a guy take this picture and then I sent it to Amy, who was at David's parents house. She was pretty excited to see it.

We came back and then the kids jumped on the trampoline.

Then Adam and Becki put together a 4th of July Seder. It was cool, yummy and a great way to remember what we are celebrating.

Then I taught the kids how to make ice cream in a bag...and then they ate it.

Then we headed over to the Frakes' house for dinner. Then we went over to their lake house for fireworks. Ally's parents recently bought this house and will use it as an airbnb. It has a trail down to their dock, which is where we lit the fireworks because we could light fireworks there, which was fun. Aaron has most of the pictures, so he will have to post them.

Adam and Nathan were in charge of the fireworks.

We had some fun fireworks, but we didn't know that we had a couple that went high in the sky. So, one went high, right above us. We have trees right above us and the fireworks was right above those trees. Then embers were coming down on us...it was crazy. Then I look over at Tanner who is sitting by me and an ember was on him and his shirt was a little bit on fire so I am swatting at the poor kid to get the fire out. He left that night with a couple battle wounds. He had a hole in his shirt and a little blister on his arm. The other fireworks like this, the guys shot it out at the lake and we were all safe.

There was so many fireflies.

We did some sparklers in the front of the house,  then headed home since it was like 10:30.

It was a really fun  4th of July. We hope everyone had a great 4th!

Trip to Arkansas Day 3 Part 2

After the caves we went and ate some tacos, then Aaron and Adam went to the shooting range and the rest of us went over to some friends' house to swim. The mom is an accountant with Walmart and used to work with Adam's friend Nathan Frakes....they are all friends now. She is super nice and we had a lot of fun.

Later we all tried out some VR. We all learned that Aaron is very loud and is all over the place, but he had a lot of fun.

Zoey got a motorcycle as she calls it for her birthday and let everyone have a turn. Some of the others would try to out run it.

Trip to Arkansas Day 3 Part 1

July 3-We all went to some caves that were about 20 minutes away. They had a story that there was some gold on the caves, which we really don't believe, but it made for a fun story. It was fun to see the cave though.

This is the "map" that they left behind.

This cave is 58 degrees year round. It felt nice inside because it was not close to 58 degrees outside.

Do you see the salamander?

What a good looking group.
