Released

This is a really long story, but I will try to make it short. A couple months ago the Stake President met with Aaron and I and asked Aaron to be EQ president, but then he asked what my calling was. I told him the primary president and he said, "Oh, we need to rethink this. Why did your Bishop not tell me this? I will get back to you." So we thought Aaron was off the hook and I kept telling the Bishopric to get someone else as EQ president. It didn't work. The stake president wouldn't allow both of us to be auxiliary presidents, so I got the boot....yesterday. So sad to leave primary.

Soccer Game and Blake's Birthday Party

Dylan's game was at 1pm. He was so tired from lack of sleep from the campout, but he still scored 1 goal.

Blake did great. He was so close to scoring a goal. The team that they played was really good.

We asked Blake if he wanted to have a birthday party at our house and invite friends or take one friend somewhere. He wanted to take 1 friend bowling. Aaron found a groupon, but it was for 6 people, so we let Blake take 2 friends. We took Rhett with us from the soccer game (since they are on the same team. Side note, he had broken his finger a couple weeks ago, but was cleared a couple days before the party to play) and then we met Kenny at he bowling alley.

Dylan's first time bowling. The boys had bumpers and then they came down for Aaron and I, although I probably should've kept them up for me too.

Blake was so happy when he got his first spare. He loved bowling.

The birthday boy.

We ate dinner and cupcakes there, then drove the boys home. We went to bed right when we got home.

Blake has some great friends and we thought it was fun to be with a fewer amount of friends for his party.

Always the silly picture...Dylan makes sure we do these.

Fathers and Sons

The boys were looking forward all week to Fathers and Sons campout. As mentioned earlier, it rained all week. But it stopped Thursday morning so it was dry enough by Friday night. The boys reminded me several times that there were no girls allowed, which I was completely fine with. The bummer is none of my church friends have all boys so I can't really do a GNO, Instead I did yard work and lots of organizing. Aaron will post some pictures.

Aaron's Updates:

Dylan's Fun Run

Last week was busy. Monday I went in for my annual physical. After the physical I went to have lunch with some friends, but was a little early, so I had time to run into a store and I finally found an ottoman that I liked. I have a problem...it takes me forever to find furniture that I like. I don't buy it until I love it and it is a good price. Anyway, happy to cross that off the list.

Wednesday, I went over to train the person who has taking over as the primary president. After that I went to Dylan's school for his Fun Run. It rained all last week--okay, a lot of last week so they had the run inside. His class is so cute. Dylan was awesome! That kid smoked everyone..but then his teacher reminded him that he needed to get some water, so he stopped every other lap to get water.

Proof--water break #10 (or so).

He ran most of it with his buddy, Paxton. Dylan loves Paxton, but Paxton always tries to give him a hug good bye at the end of school and Dylan doesn't want any of that.

They got a donut and ice cream after the run...and medals too.

Soccer Game

That Saturday the boys both had games at 9am, so Aaron went to Blake's and I went to Dylan's. I was able to see a little of Blake's because Dylan's was done before Blake's was.

Blake was supposed to go to a friend's birthday party, but his poor friend was sick..again...(they had already rescheduled it because he was sick on the previously planned party day) so they cancelled the party. The boys spent hours playing with Milo--as we call his new Lego WeDo2.

Field Trip

The day after Blake's birthday, all of 1st grade went on a field trip to the Dallas Zoo. I couldn't go because they wouldn't let me bring Dylan along. (Side note--yes, I tried fighting the school about this). But we had friends go so they sent me pictures throughout the day. The weather was perfect for them.

Dylan and I played at home. He still loves to dress up.

We also went to the park because it was nice outside.

Happy Birthday Blake

A couple weeks ago Blake turned 7. The kids got ready in record time so that Blake could open his presents before school. We got him some XBox games.

My folks went in with us and got him the Lego WeDo2. It is fantastic. You build something (ca, helicopter, tractor, etc), then you program it and it will move accordingly.

Blake loves going to the museum and programming some of the robots there, so we thought this would be perfect.

My parents and Grandma also sent him some money. He was very excited.

Aaron's folks got him some posters of scripture heros for his room.

Thanks everyone for the awesome gifts!

At lunch, we went to Blake's school to eat with him.

It had been raining A LOT that week so the fields were too muddy so Dylan's soccer practice was cancelled that night. They were not sad at all because it meant they got to play with Blake's new presents.

Per Blake's request, we had an ice cream cake.

Crazy to think he is already 7. It is fun to see the progress he has made over the year in school. All his classmates look up to him...he is a leader. I didn't really know it, but several months back one of the moms told me that everyone wants to do what Blake is doing, then his teacher was telling me that he is a leader. Then when I worked in his classroom I got to see it. I think he just has a very likable personality that people are drawn to. I guess it helps that he is (usually) a pretty caring person too. Happy birthday bud!
