Balloon Show was fun

Thursday morning we went to the downtown library for a magic balloon show. He did a great job--he was entertaining for adults and kids.

We met Reese there too!

Our library reading program theme is space--surprise. Everything is space related given the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

So his presentation had a lot of Star Wars to it. Here are Princess Leia and Darth Vadar.

He had some really, really cool creations, but I didn't get too many pictures.

I think everyone's favorite was when he went inside a balloon.

Bowling with Avir

This week, the boys have had an art camp in the afternoon. It was Monday-Thursday. Funny story, I was dropping them off the first day and I saw of my preschool kids--his sister was doing the camp. Small world?!

Monday morning we met up with Blake's friend, Avir for bowling. They had fun and we played laser tag after their free games. His mom had some laser tag passes. It was super fun.

I got a lot done while the kids were at camp. I even found the boys new shoes for school. It was so much easier to not have them with me..sigh. Done and done.

The art camp was pretty cool. They made some fun creations and they enjoyed being able to do it together. Dylan especially really likes art, so I'm glad they were able to work on their talents.

The boys also went over to Reese's house in the morning on Wednesday. Summer is a great time to hang out with friends!

HOA Car Show

July 18--We had Blake's friend, Reese over in the morning to swim. That night we had Pack Meeting, with a moon theme. We did a astronaut drop, so the boys made spacecrafts that we dropped from a 9ft ladder. The astronauts were marshmallows. The adults and kids had fun!

July 19--we had Dylan's friend, Caleb and his mom over in the afternoon to swim.

These kids have some great friends!

July 20--We had a lot to do in the morning. Before Blake and I  ran in the morning, I told him that he needed to run quickly so we can get home, do yard work and get to the car show that he really wanted to go to. Sure enough, that kid ran his heart out and cut his time by 7 minutes from a couple days before. Then he helped with yard work...he really wanted to see some cars.

So off we went. It was at our HOA, so it is very low key, but still fun and I love it because it is 3 minutes away...and they had donuts and soda, which they kids were excited about.

Dylan's favorite car.

Blake's favorite car.

After the car show, we came home and did some more chores, then ate lunch, swam, did haircuts, then ate dinner and  then Aaron and I went to the temple.

Urban Air

July 17--The boys got free passes to the new Urban Air in our city from the summer library reading program. I knew the Neumann's had a membership there, so we asked them to join us because it is always more fun with friends! We all had the best time. Cambria and I got to catch up and the kids played and played. The Neumann's stayed for 3 1/2 hours and  then Beckett stayed with us for another 1 1/2 hours, so 5 hours!

This zipline thing they say is really fun.

It takes you around the place.

The ropes course was cool.

They called this the leap of faith. You jump and grab onto that orange thing.

The place was a lot of fun and it was so nice and cool in there. Texas in the summer is no joke.

Perot Museum

July 16--Aaron was going to his office and we were heading to the Perot Museum this day, which is now, very close together, so we carpooled. It was a great day too because it wasn't too busy.

The boys love brain flakes and the museum had these huge ones.

We walked over to Aaron's office to eat lunch together.

This is the view from the break room. Side note: the park to the left is the Klyde Warren park, which was built over the freeway. We have been to it once before and it is pretty cool.

Back to the museum.

As we were leaving Blake (our car lover) spotted an NSX. This is Aaron's dream car.

So when Aaron walked over after work (since we dropped him at the office and  then parked at the Perot) to drive home together, we showed him this car. Makes you wonder who this belongs to. Who goes to the museum on a Tuesday afternoon in this?

Recently Ross Perot passed away. Obviously the museum is named after him and we have found out over the years of going to the museum, that he would frequent the museum. Ross gave a lot back to the DFW community. He paid for all BSA advancements, which I always thoughts was pretty cool. Anyway, at the museum they had a little memorial for him and a place where you can write notes to his family.
