Church At Home

At home on Sunday we had Church since our Church is closed until further notice. We started studying the olive tree allegory and the boys were a bit confused, so we pulled up this church movie from about 100 years ago. It was a little cheesy, but it was very helpful. Then we watched the latest Book of Mormon movie. The Church has come a long way in their film productions. Good job.

I love this...can they get closer?

Lego Masters

Have you seen Lego Masters on TV yet? We are big fans.

In one episode they built bridges and then put weights on them to see how much weight they could hold (a couple of the bridges on the show supported 1,000 pounds). So we built our own. We put bean bags on them....so, not 1,000 but so close.

This is Blake's.

This is Aaron's.

This is Dylan's.

Spring Break - Friday

Friday we stayed at home because it was raining a lot! We did make it to a couple of stores. It was more crowded then normal, but what was crazy was seeing the shelves empty. Part of the problem was  that people were starting to get back from their Spring Break trips and needed groceries.

Spring Break - Thursday

Aaron took the day off and we went to Epic Waters because we had some free tickets. It wasn't crowded when we got there in the morning so we did a ton of the slides..over and over again. We stayed until about 2:30, then headed home.

Zoom on Dylan's face and that wraps up how he felt about his day. He loved it. He was so happy to be swimming. Blake loved it too, but Dylan was super, super happy.

When we got home, I got a text from my boss saying that the school district was extending Spring Break a week and since we follow their schedule, we will be closed too. Shortly after, the surrounding ISDs did the same.

Then we saw that Church would be canceled, which also meant our presidency meeting--at least having that in person.

Blake was super sad that school was canceled.

Spring Break - Wednesday

Wednesday morning we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was going to be a really nice day and it was half price day, so we knew it would be crowded, so we bought tickets online and got there about 20 minutes before it opened and google maps took us the back way so we didn't get any of  the traffic. We parked right next to the zoo entrance. This was our first time at this zoo and we loved it. We saw everything including the shows, we ate lunch under some trees for some shade and when we finished, it started to get pretty busy. Perfect timing..so we left and as we were driving to the freeway we saw people walking to the zoo--they parked 1/2 mile from the entrance....and it kept going...they were parked on the grass, etc. Police were everywhere directing them. Boy we were so glad we went in the morning. We had no trouble.

We got to touch a ratsnake.

Dylan was excited to see penguins and giraffes.

They had a Texas Ranch show, but this porcupine was not native to Texas, but still cool to learn about.

We got to touch some starfish too.

A pretty cool enclosure for the tiger.

Yep, turned out to be a warm day.

We went home, then stopped at Costco where we got a new rug for dining room and then went to Primary Activity Day. What a fun, busy day.

Spring Break - Tuesday

We went on a hike at our current favorite places to hike..Oak Point.

It is starting to turn to Spring...things are starting to bloom and the grass is turning.

We saw a crane (or some large bird) and some turtles.

Then we went to Torchy's for lunch.

Spring Break- Monday

Monday I painted the dining room while the kids played. I found them doing this. Apparently they are now DJs.

After painting, we went to see Aaron at his new office. We were able to meet his coworkers too. Then we went to dinner.

Soccer and Caleb's Birthday Party

March 7--This was the sunrise I saw after my run. So pretty!

After my run, then Blake and I ran, and then we went to Home Depot for the kids workshop only to be told that they weren't having it because of the coronavirus. They gave us the project to take home, but we picked up some mulch and went home and did some yard work.

After lunch, we headed to Dylan's soccer game, which was day 1 of Spring Break, so half his team was gone so they had no subs. Dylan played goalie

and was a defender again...and a little bit as a midfielder.

Then Blake and Aaron went home and I took Dylan to his buddy Caleb's birthday party. Dylan was the only friend that showed up (Spring break wasn't good timing) but soooo many family members were there, so I got to meet them and they all said how great Dylan has been for Caleb. They think Dylan has given Caleb so much confidence and love how Dylan makes Caleb do things that he normally wouldn't do. Caleb is such a great kid and his family is awesome so I'm glad that Dylan and Caleb get along so well. Of course they all also commented on the height difference.

These boys had so much fun. Happy birthday Caleb!!
