Track Meet #2

Saturday was their second track meet. It was about an hour away and we got there at 8:45am and didn't leave there until 2:30pm. It was a long, hot day. We left and our car said it was 100 degrees. I don't know what the real feel was because it was humid and just super hot on the field.

The boys both tried long jump.

Dylan did the 50m. Blake was too old for it. Don't you love his ready stance?

This is his race. He loves it and he is really good at it. He tied for 2nd, so they gave him 3rd.

They both did the 4x100 and did awesome. Dylan ran the 3rd leg and Blake ran the last leg.

Dylan and Blake then did the 100. They did great. We all had lost about 20 pounds just from sweat by this point.

Then they did the 400.

Dylan had a great kick at the end, but they were totally drained and both kids didn't want to do the 200.

They both came home with lots of ribbons. When we came home we swam. It felt so good. Next week it is supposed to be even hotter.

Field Day

Friday both kids had their field day at school in the afternoon. It was super hot. I had signed up at work at the bounce house for 1 1/2 hours and then the plan was to walk around each of the classes after the bounce house. About 45 minutes into my shift it started to get really cloudy, which  felt nice because it was so hot. Then Dylan's class  came over to the bounce house. I looked up at the sky and it was totally dark. It was very windy. Dylan was next in line for the bounce house when they blew the whistle to shut us down. Lightning was spotted so they had to shut it down. The boys were not happy...especially Dylan. I did see Blake when I first got there and I saw him as they were going into the school.

Park Visit

This was my first week off since preschool is now out. I got a lot done! I even went out to lunch one day with friends and another day with Aaron.

This week we have hit summer...it is so hot.

Wednesday for cub scouts Blake went on a hike, so Dylan and I went to the treehouse park since it was close to their hike.

Track Meet

The boys had their first track meet today and they did amazing. They both did the 100, 400 and 200. Blake did the best in the 400--he got 2nd and Dylan's best event was the 200--he got 3rd. This is for their age group. It was fun to see them run.

Dylan is one of the youngest out there, but certainly not the shortest. There were 2 other track teams--it was a smaller meet. It is hot though. I got some amazing water bottles from my kiddos at school and they came in handy for this track meet.
