Pilgrims

Last week in Blake's class they dressed up like pilgrims. His teacher emailed me a picture, which I thought was pretty cute.

Blake's Tournament

Saturday and Sunday Blake's  team was in a tournament. We didn't find out the times until Wednesday. First game was on Saturday at 10:15. Awesome, I had a baptism (a convert baptism of primary kids so I didn't plan it) at the same time. So, I called me counselor and she was able to go for me and speak in my place.

It was chilly but the wind made it cold. So Blake's team soundly destroyed all the teams the entire season. Well, the tournament had kids from around DFW and they were no joke. We did not win game 1.

Here is game 2, which was later in the afternoon at 3:15. They also didn't win this one.

Coach Michelle brought cookies afterwards.

Here is Blake with Coach Jake. Blake didn't participate in Sunday's game, so we got a picture with Coach on Saturday. He had a great team and Blake really enjoyed soccer. He was terrified to play because he thought he was going to get hurt. He has no fear when he is pounding on his brother at home....I don't get it. Anyway, he wants to keep playing. The team wants to stay together for Spring, which starts in March--brrrr. Good job Dragons!

Thanksgiving Feast with Blake

Last Thursday Aaron was able to sneak away from work and join us for Blake's Thanksgiving Feast at his school. Tons of parents and grandparents were there. It was fun to see lots of people. I had told Blake that it was just going to be Dylan and I since Aaron had to work. He was so happy to see Aaron.

This picture pretty much sums up Dylan. Silly kid. Notice his arm. He had to get his lab work done earlier that morning. They usually take 1 vial, but we needed a couple other things tested too, so it was 2 vials. He asked me as we were walking in if it was okay to cry...I said only if it hurt. He did cry. He didn't mind the needle, he just hates the tourniquet. He did not let me take the bandage off until bath time. Later this week we go for his ultrasound which he has to be fasting for.

Dylan's Final Soccer Game of the Season

Last Tuesday night was Dylan's last game for the season. It was a make up game. They were so excited because they got to play at night, which meant the lights were on. Dylan played the entire game. Let me restate that, he was on the field the entire game, but the first 2 quarters he was kind of in lala land. He was dancing, etc. I realized that he was doing it because I was filming him. So, I stopped filming him and he was back in the game.

They had such a patient coach.

But I did pull my camera out in time.

He got one goal....

and then another. He is giving his coach a high 5.

This is him running over to me holding up 2 fingers because he did get his 2 goals. (This is the amount of goals that he said he would get before his game started).

Afterwards, he got a trophy. Wow, did that make his night. He put the trophy under his bed that night.

Boxes

Before we headed to the lunch with some other moms, Dylan found the box that I was going to use to pack away some toys that they don't use anymore.

He had fun with the box and I found another box to use. I brought Dylan with me to the lunch. He was happy as could be because he was eating and he got a cookie. It was fun to chat with them. One of them was Blak'es coaches, Michelle and it was her birthday.

Kenny's Birthday Party

About a month and a half ago, Kenny's mom was talking to us about his birthday. She wanted to have it on his birthday, which was a Sunday. Blake told her that we don't go to birthday parties on Sundays because that is the day we go to church. About 5 days before the birthday, we got the invite, but it was scheduled for 12 and Blake's make up soccer game was scheduled for 12:45, so I told her this, but that we would work it out so that we could be at both. She changed the party to 2. Perfect, we told them we would be there. Then 2 days later we got an email from Blake's coach that the time of the game had been changed to 2. What?! I told Blake that it was his choice..I had done what I could. I said we could play the first half and then go to the movie party because the soccer field and movie theater are about 3 minutes apart. The morning of Blake decided that he wanted to go to his best friend's party. Blake also decided that he wanted me to join him. So, I watched the new Peanut movie with him. We had some reserved seats and the kids got snacks during the movie. Blake sat by Avir--his other buddy from school. Avir's mom was also there and she invited me to a ladies lunch with a group of moms who I knew the next Tuesday.

After the movie, they ate pizza, cake and opened presents.

Olives

My kids love olives. Here they are enjoying their after school snack.

HOA Park Day

A couple weeks ago, our HOA had another park day at a park within our HOA. We knew a couple people from school, but most of them we didn't. They had the kids dress up in their costumes since it was a couple days after Halloween. Dylan was excited to wear his costume to the park. He was the only boy there. It's a tough life.

Superman

Grandma's birthday card to Dylan had glasses in them, you could be Clark Kent or Superman. Dylan threw them all off by wearing Superman shirt and Clark Kent glasses.

It was supposed to be a nice, sunny day so we went to the park after going to the library. It was nice weather, but overcast.

We still had lots of fun. After lunch, we went over to Beckett's house to play.

Happy Halloween

Friday it rained and Saturday morning it rained, so Dylan's soccer game was cancelled. We carved the pumpkin.

What a cool spider. Could you tell it is a spider?

The boys did some Halloween crafts with Grandma while Grandpa finished up some projects. He fixed our kitchen faucet, front door lock and our sprinklers. Since we extended our fence line, our sprinklers need to be adjusted. This required some trips to Home Depot, which the boys went along with.

After lunch it was time to take Grandma and Grandpa to the airport. We had so much fun with them. The boys were sad to see them go.

But they were very excited about trick-o-treating. Ironman and Spiderman love dressing up.

I was batgirl.

And Aaron was the Joker. Fitting that Aaron was a villain?

We went over to Beckett and Kelsey's house for dinner. We have Buzz, Woody, Ironman, Spiderman, and Anna. Kelsey was going to be Jessie from Toy Story to go along with the theme, but changed her mind.

The kids ran from house to house. They got so much candy, like ridiculous amounts. We saw lots of friends. I don't know who couldn't like Halloween?! (This is a jab at my dad....he doesn't like it even a little) One family in the neighborhood transformed their golf cart into the Scooby-Do van and had the song playing. So clever.

Kelsey and Beckett's neighbors joined us. Harper (aka Kevin the minion) and Finley (aka Margo) had fun too. This is at the very end so we had lost some accessories and were tired. We walked in the door and Dylan immediately laid down right in our entry way. They didn't want any candy...just to go to bed. Hope everyone had a happy Halloween!
