General Conference

I promise my kids watch and listen to everything during Conference. (wink, wink) Dylan might have been practicing catching M&Ms in his mouth. He mastered it. In between sessions we went on a bike ride and played in the backyard.

Blake's Birthday Party

On Saturday we had a little birthday party for Blake. During all these rain storms we have been busy putting together puzzles.

Blake wanted to have his best buddies over to watch a movie and eat. We watched SpiderMan: Into the Spiderverse. We got a huge storm while the movie was playing, so we were notified that Dylan's soccer game was canceled...again.

We had some pizza

and cupcakes.

And opened presents

Then tested out the presents. It was a nice, easy birthday party.

The rest of the day was spent watching conference and getting some stuff for our yard.

Play Date with Caleb

Thursday after school Dylan's friend, Caleb walked home with us for a play date with Dylan. Caleb is Dylan's good friend from his class. He is also the shortest kid in class and Dylan is the tallest. He is such a sweet kid and his mom is super nice. His mom asked me what percentile Dylan was in height, then she told me that Caleb is in the 1st percentile for height. We all come in all shapes and sizes...it doesn't matter.

Eye Doctor

April 2--after school the boys had an eye doctor appointment. We pulled up and saw a McClaren. They were super excited. Blake spotted it from a distance...it's like he has a 6th sense for these cars.

The appointment went well. The boys have the same prescription, but do not need glasses.

Soccer Game

March 30--in the morning  we went to our friends baptism, then ate lunch in the car and then headed over to Dylan's game where it was cold! Spring in North Texas is annoying. We have beautiful weekdays and then the weekend it is rainy and cold. We also get bad, nasty storms with lots of hail.

Dylan played really well. He had a couple shots on goal, but they didn't go in. He is understanding the game a lot more, improving his foot work and getting more aggressive. His coach is really happy this.

DFW Car Show

March 29 the boys didn't have school because it was a bad weather make up day and since we didn't have any bad weather days this year, we got the day off. In the morning, we went and got the boys their passports. That was not fun, but we got it done. Then Aaron went to work and I took the boys downtown Dallas to the car show. They both really like cars, but especially Blake. Blake wants to be a car designer or engineer of sorts.

We walked in and Chevy was right in front, which is basically Blake's favorite. He immediately spotted his Stingray, but people were looking at it, so we checked out another car.

Then sat in the Stingray. Apparently it was like heaven.

But they were not impressed with the cargo space. They said there was no way we could go to costco with that car. With how much these boys eat, it is a very accurate statement.

This was the most fun. A lego truck.

It even had functioning lights.

And then we went in the real one. For the record, it was super hard to get in and out of.

I determined at the car show and then Aaron agreed with me later, that Dylan will probably be the one in the family to drive a truck and it will probably be red. He was drawn to every red car they had at the show.

We wanted to see the hybrid accord, but no such luck. We did see Uncle David's car, but this wasn't the electric version that he has. While I was in CA David took me for a ride in his car, which I had to tell the boys about, which they got a little jealous about...so this was as close as they were going to get for awhile.

I thought this car looked cool, but I wasn't super impressed and then I saw the value of this car...

$2.5 million because only 25 of them were made.

A McClaren.

And an even better looking one. This is one of Blake's favorites.

The boys had never heard of a Rolls Royce before and Blake wasn't impressed at all..especially after seeing the price tag. I'm with him. There are much cooler cars for that price.

Then a maserati. The boys said this was the quietest car they went in all day...they couldn't hear anything.

They had a trampoline place in the car show for the kids to get some energy out. Great idea!

While we were  there I saw one of my coworkers. She was there with her husband and 2 boys. They were actually in the market for a new car. Anyway, it was fun to meet her family. Then while I was talking with them I got a tap on my shoulder..I turned around and it was the secretary from the boys' school. She said, "Man, I was just going to call you guys out for missing school, but then I realized that we don't have school today." haha.  Small world huh?

Then we went to the classic car section, where he saw the old stingray.

While we were there, I had sent my family some pictures of the cars since well, they like  those cars too. James said that he had seen our old family van recently, so I showed the picture to the boys and then we saw this van, which they said should be the Bass Mobile 2.0.

We thought the eyes were pretty cool.

This is Aaron's dream car, so we had to check it out for him.

Hmmm..Dylan in another red car. It's a Lexus.

Other then the color, this is a pretty cool car.

Blake loves Lamborghini, but it was the SUV. Seriously who would buy that? If you are getting a Lamborghini you are not getting an SUV. Lame.

This ended up being on Blake's top 5 list too. This is a kid with expensive taste.

My folks bought this car recently and wanted the boys to check it out.

Now this is a Lamborghini. Pretty cool huh?

Last car was also on his top 5.

The great thing about going to this car show is that it was a mom with her 2 young boys, so the sales people didn't bother me. We had a lot of fun. Blake thought it was cool to be able to sit in so many cars that he has never been in before.
