Trip to Arkansas Day 4-4th of July

July 4--It rained that morning, so I didn't get to go on my run until later. But by that time it was light outside, so I ran on this awesome trail that I wouldn't have done if it was dark. There are some really fun trails there. I came home, we had breakfast and then we headed to a park/hiking/biking place.

We were taking this picture when Becki recognized this group....

The 2 ladies sitting down are David Stott's sisters. David Stott is married to Amy Stott--that is Aaron and Adam's cousin and Amy lives 5 minutes from us. Okay, now that we are all on the same page...Suzanne (The one who has a shirt that matches mine..what?!) lives in Bentonville. The other sister lives in Virginia but was visiting. I met them all when they were all out for Benjamin's blessing, so it was fun to see them again. They told me that they will be out again for Landon's baptism this year, so that will be fun to see them again. We had a guy take this picture and then I sent it to Amy, who was at David's parents house. She was pretty excited to see it.

We came back and then the kids jumped on the trampoline.

Then Adam and Becki put together a 4th of July Seder. It was cool, yummy and a great way to remember what we are celebrating.

Then I taught the kids how to make ice cream in a bag...and then they ate it.

Then we headed over to the Frakes' house for dinner. Then we went over to their lake house for fireworks. Ally's parents recently bought this house and will use it as an airbnb. It has a trail down to their dock, which is where we lit the fireworks because we could light fireworks there, which was fun. Aaron has most of the pictures, so he will have to post them.

Adam and Nathan were in charge of the fireworks.

We had some fun fireworks, but we didn't know that we had a couple that went high in the sky. So, one went high, right above us. We have trees right above us and the fireworks was right above those trees. Then embers were coming down on us...it was crazy. Then I look over at Tanner who is sitting by me and an ember was on him and his shirt was a little bit on fire so I am swatting at the poor kid to get the fire out. He left that night with a couple battle wounds. He had a hole in his shirt and a little blister on his arm. The other fireworks like this, the guys shot it out at the lake and we were all safe.

There was so many fireflies.

We did some sparklers in the front of the house,  then headed home since it was like 10:30.

It was a really fun  4th of July. We hope everyone had a great 4th!
