What Happened to Fall?

A couple weekends ago we went to a birthday party for Dylan's friend Sophie. Did the boys play with Sophie, nope. They played with Cohen and Isaac. It was really windy, but pretty nice. The next day it was a high of 78 degrees, so I went and treated the lawn before it turned cold. The next day we had a high of 30 something. It has been cold ever since. Yesterday it even snowed a little. We had about 1 week of fall. We seriously went from 90 degree weather to 30 degrees in under a week and a half.

Dylan is in denial about the weather. His shorts are now hidden so he can't find them. He had his ultrasound and was not happy that he couldn't eat or drink anything. He did great during the scan and they got great pictures, but he wouldn't smile for the technician until she was all done and we got a cookie. Everything looked good though.

Last week, we also went to dinner with some of Aaron's former co-workers from PwC who were out in Dallas. It is always fun to catch up, although it was a little late for the kids. Dylan also came with me to get the oil changed in my car. I was eating breakfast one morning and a piece of my tooth broke...crazy right? So while Dylan was in preschool I got that fixed.

Cohen's favorite show is Paw patrol, which my kids also enjoy. Well, Friday was a big day for that show because a new pup was going to be on the show, so Robyn invited us over to watch it after school. I picked up all the kids from school and when Cohen walked out the doors he said, "Today is the day!" He was super excited. I was talking to my friend while waiting for them and he came up to her and told her how excited he was.

Sunday we went to some friends house for dinner. It was actually Dylan's preschool teacher's house and then Sophie and her family were there too. Blake was super excited to see Ms. Shannon again and Ms. Shannon was pretty happy to see her. Although when she asked him if he could come back to preschool he said no.

My folks are coming into town for Thanksgiving and Blake has the entire week off of school. Aaron only has 2 days off of work though. The boys are really excited for them to come. It should be fun!

Turkey Lunch

Yesterday was Turkey Lunch at Blake's school, so parents are encouraged to come eat lunch with their kid. We had Lacie over for a play date so she was able to come with us.

Usually the kids sit with their class, but today they could sit wherever, so we were able to sit with some friends. In the corner are our friends Ashley and her brother Carter. Sadie was also there with her dad, Chad.

I am not sure why the school did this so far away from Thanksgiving because now Blake thinks Thanksgiving is soon which means no school. It did get me thinking about how many things we have to be thankful for, so I guess, good job school for making me stress/think about Thanksgiving sooner then normal.

Life is Always Changing

Blake might be slightly obsessed with Batman, so here is my attempt at the bat signal.

Our life changed on Sunday because I am now the Primary President in our ward. Yicks! I am super lucky and have an awesome presidency, so that makes it a lot easier. Blake was totally confused with me being in primary and when the presidency came over for a meeting a couple nights ago he kept saying it was Young Women's since that is what I have been doing for awhile. Dylan will be a Sunbeam next year, so hopefully it will all be good with me in there with both of them.

So Blake says some pretty fun prayers, but what he prays for he is totally serious about. He typically prays for his classmates at school that they won't get hurt, but the last couple of nights he has added that the people in other countries won't get owies and need bandaids, that an asteroid won't come and destroy us like it did to the dinosaurs and that the aliens won't attack the astronauts. I don't know where this kid comes up with some of this stuff.

Halloween

Halloween morning Dylan had his 3 year check up. We found out that he needs to have a minor surgery that isn't urgent, but needs to be done. At the end of the visit, they drew his blood. The nurse did a horrible job. Dylan doesn't cry anymore, but she was so bad that he did.

After his doctor visit, I took Dylan to a trampoline place for toddler time.

He loved the place and he especially liked to climb up the sides. When we got there, they tried to put a wristband on, but he had just had that terrible experience with his blood draw that he wasn't having it, so they put it on his back.

Afterward, we went to Costco for some ice cream.

Later, we got ready for trick or treating. Blake wanted to be a dinosaur. This is a costume that my mom made for my brother years ago.

But then he changed his mind to Captain America along with Dylan.

But then Dylan changed his mind too and ended up with Superman.

We went trick or treating with Cohen and Isaac. The boys had so much fun together. We are going to miss them when they move.

Preschool and Fun

Thursday Dylan had a program at his preschool where he was able to dress up. They sang some songs and got some treats.

Then after we picked up Blake from school, we went to Cohen's house.  We hadn't been there in awhile so the kids were excited to play...but then the tv was turned on and they all watched it...very closely.

Then we met Aaron at the restaurant for Dylan's happy birthday dinner. Dylan wasn't feeling super well, but we still had fun and the boys love the treat of eating out!

Birthday Boy

On Dylan's actual birthday, Blake woke up and threw up again, so he couldn't go to school, but he was better by about 11 and was able to hold stuff down, so later in the afternoon we went outside to test out Dylan's new soccer goals.

Happy birthday Dylan. We love you!
