Crazy Hair Day

This week is Red Ribbon Week so they dress up each day with a new theme. Tuesday was crazy hair and sock day. After school, we played with his buddy, Kenny at the park so I got a picture of his hair. This is as crazy as he would let me...2 horns.

They had fun together and his mom came out of school so we got to chat for awhile. This is Blake's teacher, Mrs. Sias. She is so great.

Soccer Games...Another goal and one that was so close

Last Saturday we went to Dylan's soccer game. Dylan scored a goal and I got it on video. One day I might post it.

Later in the day, Blake played. He almost scored...like super close. The parents all want Blake to score so badly. He really enjoys soccer. Parker's mom got the near goal on film and texted it to me. Her husband coaches for FC Dallas. He rarely gets to come to his son's games, but when he does it cracks me up....she is very vocal (Aaron and her are very similar) and the dad is very quiet. I would think it would be the opposite given his profession. Anyway, I love that family. She also teaches our new friend Benton.

Lunch with Dad

Before the haunted house, we went to eat lunch with Aaron. Aaron was able to work from home that day and was able to come eat lunch with us at Blake's school. It made Blake's day that Aaron came.

They also finished our  fence. Still haven't got a picture from the front, but this gives you an idea of the extension. It used to end at the pool equipment enclosure (at the right of the picture). We are very happy with the fence. It looks great and our neighbor loves it.

Haunted House

Last Friday night, we had a large group date. A bunch of us from the ward got together and went to one of the best rated haunted houses in the US. It was in Fort Worth, which is a little over an hour away (with no traffic). So Sean (Beckett's dad) loves haunted houses and Cambria (wife) hates them. Conveniently their babysitter got sick so she didn't go. Their babysitter was our babysitter's sister, but thankfully she was over her sickness...she ended up giving it to her sister.

It took an hour to go through the haunted house---it was huge and fun. Of course when you go with a large group everyone is trying to scare people within the group in addition to the actors inside the haunted house. That meant extra fun.

At the very end, you walk through a room full--like 7 feet tall of soap suds/foam/whatever you call it. Don't know how that went with the whole haunted house theme, but it was something to talk about for sure. Luckily it wasn't a cold night because it took forever to dry off. We then went and got some ice cream afterwards.

So we have 4 dentists in the ward...3 came this night..the other bailed...wimps. One is my dentist, one is Aaron's dentist (yes, we see different ones...I go to the one that is 1 mile from my house), one is the kids' dentist and the other one just moved here.

We had lots of fun.

Park with Beckett and Khloe

Last Thursday we went to the park with Beckett and Khloe. Dylan doesn't really play with Khloe, but us moms enjoy visiting .

Dylan loves to dance.

2 buddies.

Blake's Game

Right after Dylan's game, we went to Blake's game. I love when they play back to back.

He gets more aggressive with each game. They won their game. After the games, we headed home. Later that day I went to the church for baptisms. We had 3 kids being baptized. Loved that it was all on the same night...thank you! I had to set up so Aaron came with the boys later on.

Dylan's First Goal

I guess it will be 2 weeks ago tomorrow that Dylan scored his first goal during his soccer game.

Dylan got from the mayhem and kicked it in. It was a little chilly that day...well, in the morning it was.

Right after he scored.

Before the game I asked him how many goals he was going to score. He told me one. He then told his coach after he scored that he was only going to score one goal. Luckily he didn't totally check out. He came super close to scoring another one.

New Fence

Yesterday the fence people came to start taking down our fence. Of course Dylan and I had to go outside to watch them.

Before they put the poles up, it was crazy to look out. So weird to me that people still live in places that don't have fences.

We had gone over Monday night to tell our neighbors that about the fence work starting the next morning and our neighbor told us that their dog who always jumps over our fence got hit by a car this past weekend so we wouldn't have to worry about her getting out while we were replacing the fence.

Blake was excited to see it when he got back from school.

This morning our neighbor came over very upset about the new fence line. Yes, he approved it and the city approved it and our HOA approved it. I will be happy when it is all done. But the pickets look fabulous....you can see them in the driveway. Great color.

Arboretum

Monday the boys had school off for Columbus Day. Thanks Columbus...we went to the Arboretum because the pumpkins were out and the boys have been dying to go and we weren't disappointed.

They do like to find the interesting ones.

The one on the left looked like a snake.

Blake was very sad that BYU wasn't included.

It was exhausting.

Superman and Ironman...on pumpkins.

We also went to the Children's section.

We are experiencing "fall". We have cooled down at night to somewhere in the 60s, but we are still in the 90s during the day. So, we were hot by about 1pm and headed home to go swimming.
