FC Dallas Game

After the airport event, we came home and rested for a couple hours. Then we went to Blake's soccer team dinner party. They got their FC Dallas tattoo and their wristband so they could go on the field.

The coaches took the boys to the holding area, which was right behind  the goal for the other team.

I've got pictures on my other camera that I will post at some point. Blake's team was on the field as the team came out to play. They gave them hi fives. They were super excited about it. Then we all sat together to watch the game. The games didn't start until 8pm and we got home a little after 10pm (because it is super close to us), but that was way past everyone's bedtime so church was a treat.

The final score was 2-0, FC Dallas won. They beat Seattle. I've been watching 7 and 4 years old play a lot recently so watching a professional team play was obviously very different.

Blake was pretty excited that his sucker had an open spot from his missing tooth.

It was a fun night!!

Challenge Air

Saturday morning we headed to our city airport to help out with Challenge Air. They get pilots to volunteer their time and fly kids with disabilities around the area for 30 minutes. We went to volunteer to help the kids and their families get in the planes. Some kids are in wheelchairs so it is hard to do it by themselves.

It was a late start because it was raining in the morning...and there was a lot of wind. So we had some breakfast...well, second breakfast.

We would get our guest and their family and escort them out. Then we help load them in, get seatbelts and headsets on.

This was the main pilot, Dave. He is from London, so he was fun to listen to. He was great with kids.

The plane that we helped with.

Jeff is the other pilot...they switched. Jeff is a flight instructor and our first guest is getting his pilot license, so Jeff was able to sign him off on some flight time. Dave is a commercial pilot.

The boys got to sit in the police car.

Dylan turned on the lights.

We did some hula hoop.

Some gymnastics.

We helped 3 families and then we were done, so Jeff took Blake, Dylan and I up for a flight.

Co-Pilot Blake.

Then Jeff asked Blake if he wanted to fly the plane, so he did...Blake flew the plane. He went a little crazy, but had fun doing it.

He flew around the lake.

Dylan and I were in the back.

This is the lake that we get our water from...it is overflowing--crazy to think about 1 1/2 years ago we were in a serious drought.

Thanks Jeff and Blake for the flight. How cool that Blake got to fly!!

Blake Lost His 1st Tooth

Friday morning Dylan got his blood drawn. He was not happy the day before that I was going to take him the next day, so I told him if he did a good job and let them draw the blood then I would take him to get an ice cream cone. He was a champ..he didn't cry at all. He is not my kid because he sat there and watched them do it all..all 2 vials. Gross. So, we went to McDonalds.

Aaron had a work party at one of the partner's house, so Cambria watched the kids and picked up Blake from school even to watch them.

This is house was amazing. They have a pond in their backyard, which you can fish in.

Better in person, but it was a fun backyard. It was fun to meet people and visit with  those I already know.

After we picked up the boys from Cambria's, we came home and ate dinner. While Blake was eating a nectarine, his tooth came out.

He was so excited!

Dylan's Soccer Party

Last Monday after school, we took Blake to the doctor for his 7 year check up. Height= 4' 3.5" (95 percentile) 55 pounds (70 percentile). He is a tall lean boy. Totally healthy and doing fine. We got the orders for Dylan while we were there.

The beginning of the week was so hot...it was in the low 90s, high 80s. I know this will feel mild in a couple of weeks, but I'm not used to it. But then we had some mild days too...with rain of course.

So Thursday we went to the library with some friends and then went to the park afterwards.

Later that night we had Dylan's soccer party. Aaron had been in Arkansas for a couple days, but was able to make it to the party.

Coach Jonathan giving Dylan his trophy. All the kids were so excited to get a trophy.

We had pizza, fruit and dessert. It was fun. The team was a lot to play with, but they are changing some of the rules next year for age of kids vs. school age, so we will see who we will play with next season.

Blake had a super wiggly tooth that night, so we took a picture.

Happy Mother's Day

Last Sunday was Mother's Day. The boys helped Aaron make breakfast by going upstairs and playing. Aaron didn't have any meetings so we got to open some gifts before church.

The boys sang "We'll Bring the World His Truth" in Sacrament. I was went to Sunday School, which hadn't happened in a long time and went to RS too. I have determined that my attention span is like a kids because these lessons are super long...I am used to the quick 15 minute lessons in Sharing Time.

Hope all the Moms had a wonderful Mother's Day!
