Monday was the boys' first day skiing ever so we decided to put them in ski school. We found a great deal at Arapahoe Basin. 50% off ski school and then a free ski pass for the kids. Since that was the place that we found the best deal and because A Basin's season usually lasts the longest, we went there. CO didn't have a great snow season, but they got a bunch of snow a couple weeks before we got there.
We got to the resort and parked right in the front because we are awesome and almost always on time. We pulled in and parked next to a car with Texas plates--turned out he was from 2 cities over from us in Texas. They own a home in CO and go skiing frequently. We looked at the parking lot and a ton of Texas plates. 6 of the 8 kids in the boys' ski class was from Texas. It was obviously Texas' spring break.
We got the boys all set in their ski class and took off. The boys did a full day, so they also got snacks in the morning and they got lunch. Lunch was orange chicken, which my kids love. I totally thought it would be a sandwich. They also kept them very hydrated and Dylan drank lots and lots of gatorade.
Aaron and I got to ski all day together. It had been awhile since we had been skiing so it was good to get a few runs in to get back in the grove. It might have taken me more runs then Aaron to get back into the grove. Aaron went off and did the harder runs too since well, that is way more fun for him.
We could see the kids in their class at the bottom of the mountain. I was so glad that they were in the same class together because it is always more fun to do these things with someone you know. It looked like they were working hard and that they were having fun.
It was really sunny! What a great date!
We finished up and then went to pick up the boys. This was part our Christmas present. We wanted to do something fun this year. It was perfect. The kids loved their class and did really well. The ski instructors said great things about how they both did. The kids really liked their instructors too.
Then we headed back to Gregg and Amy's for dinner and then rest. Long day, but super fun!
