Dylan's Present

October 30--Dylan came home from school and there was a package from Uncle David, Aunt Kristi and Seth and Kaleb. He was pretty excited about it.

Lunch with Blake

October 29--Aaron and I ate lunch with Blake. They have lunch so far apart in the day from one another that we had to break it into 2 days. Blake also wanted Braum's, which was a much better choice in my opinion. If you disagree, then you haven't had their food..especially their ice cream. Yummy!

Then Blake had his first basketball practice. There are some big boys on his team. His coach is a really good coach so I hope Blake will learn a lot this season.

Dylan's Birthday

October 28--Dylan turned 7! He opened his presents in the morning. We got him these legos

and this nerf gun (blury, but I love his face)

My folks got him these, which he loved.

He put them both together, but here is one.

Aaron's folks and my grandma gave him money.

We had our primary program that day too, which Dylan's wasn't too happy about, but they did great.

We had T Bone steak, AKA cow meat for Dylan's birthday. My parents sent a gift card to get some cow meat. Dylan loves his cow meat and he is kind of a meat snob.

He had a great birthday. He is such a good boy! We love you bud!

Dylan's Birthday Party

October 27--after the car show, we came home, ate lunch and then got ready for the party. We wanted to do something with just a couple of friends, so Dylan picked Jake, Max, Beckett and Blake to all go to Obstacle Ninja Kids, then come to our house and play, then eat and open gifts.

Dylan can now go up the big warped wall.

At our house they played on the trampoline and played an escape room game.

Then we ate pizza and then cupcakes.

Then opened gifts.

We love these friends of Dylan. They are such good boys--silly, but really good kids.

Soccer and Trick or Treating with Cool Cars

October 27--Dylan had an early soccer game.

Then we went over to the Star--this is the Cowboys practice facility. They were having a car show, but this one you could dress up and go trick or treating at the different cars. They had Ford cars there. There were some very expensive cars.

We were walking around (Don't you love how Dylan wanted to wear a costume that was way too small for him?), we ran into the boys' pediatrician. Aaron had never met him so I introduced him. We have become friends with our pediatrician. His sister happened to play volleyball at BYU. I think he is a great person (he has 3 boys of his own and 1 1/2 years ago his middle boy had a brain aneurysm and died at the their home..super sad.) Anyway, he was trying to tell me how awesome he was because he had just ran a 5K. I told him to run a half with me the next weekend....he said no.

These guys in the background are BYU alums.

We were heading to our cool minivan after seeing these cars and then we saw a handful of Lamborghinis. There are some cool cars out there.

Eating Lunch With Dylan

October 26--This week was red ribbon week at school, so the kids dressed up every day. Friday was costume day, so both kids were Ninjas.

Since Dylan's birthday was on Sunday, Aaron and I went to eat lunch with him at school. He picked McDonald's for us to bring for him to eat.

Then Dylan picked Italian Garden to eat at that night. He loves his "small" piece of pizza. This place is so yummy!!

Parent Teacher Conference

October 22--the kids had the day off of school because we had parent teacher conference. I went to talk to Blake's teacher first. He is doing great. His teacher just loves Blake. He did say that it is his goal to make that kid laugh every day because he is sometimes too serious at school. His classmates really like Blake too. He is doing well academically, but he is supposed to work on his penmanship.

Dylan's teacher is probably the sweetest person in the world. She gives the students a hug every morning, but Dylan doesn't dig that at all. Dylan is doing extremely well in class. He is getting 98 and 99 percent on all the district exams. He comes home every day saying he is bored, so I told this to his teacher, so she said she would challenge him more. At home we call it "lala land" This is when Dylan spaces out. Well, we found out he does it at school. She says she has to call to him. She said that you can tell that his brain is just going and she wonders what he is thinking about. He doesn't interrupt anyone so it doesn't make her mad. Anyway, she said, "well, he is going to be a doctor or something because he has terrible penmanship". I told her that he wanted to be an engineer...also known for not great penmanship.

After the conferences I took the boys to Dollar Tree to pick out one item for doing such a great job at school.

Since I am so behind on the blog, we actually just got sent home their progress reports. On Sunday Blake's teacher sent Aaron and I an email saying that he was filling out his progress report card and just wanted to pay Blake a compliment.  He said he wanted to let us know how much he enjoyed having Blake in class and that he is a great kid. "He is one of the bright spots on the class."

We are sure grateful for the boys' teachers. All of them are great!

Shopping Day

October 20- We had record amounts of rain in September and October. We had so many soccer games rescheduled because of the rain. October 19 it poured, but then stopped. They still canceled the saturday games because everywhere was too wet. We had so much rain that we had damage to several of our parks.

So instead of a soccer game we went shopping. It was a beautiful day. Aaron had to get his scoop calibrated at Cabellas where we got some free fudge and did a Halloween craft.

We went over to a sports store and found this running shirt for $.02. Seriously. I bought it. I think this is a record for me. Not a bad deal.

Someone loves Halloween

We got in our car last month for the October Pack meeting for cub scouts. I looked behind me to backup out of the garage and I see this kid. He makes me laugh.
