Swimming

March 27--They wanted me to come in the pool, so we warmed up the spa because the water was too cold for me.

They love, love swimming.

Messes

March 26-I had to go to preschool to pick up some lessons and to get our caterpillars. We get caterpillars every year and see how many will turn into butterflies. They are at our house and we post videos or pictures to the students on their status. 

When I got back, I found Dylan's room like this. They kept themselves busy. 

With all of us at home all the time, our house is harder to keep clean. The boys have always had the rule that they have to clean everything up before bedtime.

That afternoon they went swimming--too cold for me still! It was only 75 degrees.

Not Yet Swimming

March 25-Our pool takes awhile to warm up from the sun, but we were having really nice days, so they wanted to go in the pool. It lasted a little bit. They mostly played outside the pool and occasionally splashed in the water.

Park

The weather has turned here, so we have been having a lot of really nice days. We have to take advantage of it because before we know it, it will be super hot and we will only want to swim.

New Playground

They installed a new play structure at the boys' school over spring break, so we decided we needed to check it out. They thought it was pretty fun.

They always like to play with the costumes.

Dylan was a mummy...using Aaron's old Elvis costume. Don't ask questions.

Being Creative

They have been practicing their Articles of Faith.

We are sad about a lot of different things being closed, but one thing that is a huge bummer is our library. The boys read a lot of books. Luckily our library did a curbside pick up for books that were on hold for 2 days. We have all these books and DVDs still because you aren't allowed to return them yet. Part of our stash are 2 Air Fryer cookbooks and 2 instant pot cookbooks. We have tried several of these recipes and they are winners. One of our first new recipes with the air fryer were these churros. They were so good.

While the boys were helping me with yard work, they invented rake ball. They spent a lot of time over a couple of weeks playing it.

And pretending to play the guitar.

Reading Scriptures

March 21--We read together as a family every night (or whoever is home) the scriptures. We all take turns  reading. This night Dylan was obviously super excited about what we were reading and decided to go fishing off of Blake's bed. Gotta love his creativity. I'm sure what we read that night really SUNK in..haha.

Park Fun

One that I did get done over Spring Break was to paint the dining room. However, I wasn't able to get any wall decor before stores closed. Oh well....it will happen.

We went to the park over by their school. We weren't on stay at home restrictions at this point, but doing the whole social distancing thing, which is so unnatural.

Games

March 18-Adam and Becki gave us this game years ago, which we love playing. The boys pulled it out and it has a little different meaning right now. Game is called Pandemic.

We also did some art at home. Their art teacher would be so proud that they love doing art.

St. Patrick's Day

During this corona virus spring (as Dylan calls it...which is everything after our scheduled spring break), we have been keeping busy. 

We do school work in the morning and then play in the afternoon. I'm working from home and so is Aaron, but I'm helping the kids with their school work. 

St. Patrick's day we went for a walk in the other direction that we always go. Crazy right? We had corned beef brisket, which we made in our Instant Pot--so yummy!!
