Still hates snow

Aaron had to go to Utah this past weekend for some recruiting, so Blake and I joined him. Aaron went skiing one day, so Blake and I went to pick him up from skiing, since Blake isn't able to ski very well yet. I think it will be a long time before Blake even wants to try to ski because skiing requires being in the snow, and as you can see, he hates the snow. It is impossible to get him to smile when he is in the snow.
While Aaron was working, Blake and I were able to hang out with Aaron's brother, Adam, and the Mrs. plus the chill little Mia. Thanks for letting Blake destroy, oh I mean, discover all the fun things at your house. Just wait, that will be Mia in a couple of months.

10 Months Old

Believe it or not, Blake turns 10 months old tomorrow. Here are some things that he does now:
-Says mama and dada (dada did come first)
-Also says up, which isn't surprising since he always wants to be up at our level to see what is going on (must be tough being short)
-Waves with both hands, at the same time (to make sure you see him waving?) He loves to wave at the cars we pass on our walks
-Lets us know when the timer goes off, we pass a dog, the phone rings, etc
-Dances (we've tried to get it on video, but he stops dancing once we start filming)
-Loves to feed himself and is pretty successful
-Crawls up the stairs

The Joys of Electronics

Aaron just built a HTPC and now, more than ever, Blake has had the urge to type away on the keyboard. Luckily we have a ton of extra computer supplies, so Blake now has his own keyboard that he can type on while we type on ours.

Blake has learned how to use a calculator too. He doesn't believe in having it turned the correct direction though.

Here, there, and everywhere

After Blake wakes up in the morning (and after he eats) the first thing he wants to do is to walk. Blake has been holding our fingers while he walks for support. In order to help preserve our backs, Blake got a toy that he can push and he is so excited about it. (So are our backs!)

If he isn't walking, then he is crawling. This kid doesn't like to stop. He would rather walk or crawl than to play with toys. Boys are active huh? He was pretty bugged that I was calling to him to take a picture.

9 Months Old

Blake turned 9 months old the same day my parents got back. Here are some new things that Blake is doing:
-crawling (forward now..he started off pushing himself backward)
-walking laps around and around and around our oval shaped coffee table all by himself
-waves and says hi (he'll even wave when he is done with the swings at the park and wants to go bye-bye)
-gets into everything..especially if there is a cord or cable involved
-"reads" me his books and even uses my finger to point to the pictures

I guess he didn't like how his clothes were organized.

They're back

My folks got back last night from their year long mission in Alabama. We are so happy they are home and so proud of the great work they did! Here is Blake meeting Grandma for the first time. Can you tell he didn't have his nap and is super tired?

Blake meeting Grandpa and seeing if he approves or not. Today they came over to join us on our walk and to play at the park, which Blake really enjoyed.

They did it

Although Blake didn't get to watch all of the big game because it was his bedtime, Blake was super excited to watch some of the game in his new shirt from Grandma and Grandpa and see Bama walk over Texas. As cute as Blake is in his Bama shirt, I think Blake looks much better in blue.

Blake in Colorado

Since it was so cold outside and Blake hates the cold, we hung out inside most of the time.

What did he spend most of his time doing? Standing and walking (with help). I think everyone got a good workout taking Blake's on walks around the house. He is so happy when he is walking around.

Riggs Family

While in Colorado we were able to hang out with Aaron's good friend, Justin, his wife Katie and their kids Evelyn and AJ. Blake is about 5 weeks older than AJ and they weren't sure what to think of one another.

Fun with cousins

Avry loved pushing Blake around on this little bus.

Blake was upset that he couldn't play the Wii, or maybe he was sad that Carter totally dominated Adam in boxing.

Blake's most recent cousin, Mia, is just thrilled to be watching her dad play the Wii.
