Christmas Eve

Before the kids went to bed, we got ready for Santa. We got some cookies and water for Santa and some carrots for the reindeer.

Dylan was a little concerned because it was not snowing so he wasn't sure how Santa would be able to land his sleigh.

Early Christmas Present

As you may recall, our trampoline broke in July and we were waiting to see what deals we could get. Our friend was able to get us a great deal on a nice trampoline and to help save even more money, he helped set it up with his kids and with Aaron.  Our kids waited patiently inside to see their surprise. This was their expression once they saw it. They were excited...they missed their trampoline.

This trampoline has an enclosure, which I really like because I don't feel like I need to be out there with them. The trampoline also has technology so the kids can jump independently...they don't launch each other when they jump. It also has a basketball hoop, which Blake loves. We will see how many times that ball ends up in our neighbors yard.

Totally missed it, but then he didn't miss one.

Trampolines really are great to get energy out...especially when it is too cold to go swimming.

Blake Can Ride

A couple of days before Christmas, Aaron took off Blake's training wheels on his bike and he could ride it by himself...although Aaron ran along with him the first couple of times.

And he can get off his bike. It is fun to see them learn new things.

Arboretum

Aaron had the day off of work and Blake was out of school so we went to the Arboretum. It was a nice day...in the mid 60s.

They had a special presentation on caves, which included making a bat.

Blake wanted some help putting on a Bruce Wayne smile on the bat.

Canlas Visit

A couple hours after Blake's party, our friends from Houston came for a visit. Our boys had so much fun playing with Grant and Chase. They played a lot together...the dance game was a big hit.

Saturday morning, we went to the cowboy park, but it was cold.

After playing, we went on an adventure walk and found some swans.

We had an early dinner and then they headed back to Houston.

Thanks Jason, Karen, Grant and Chase for visiting with us. We had so much fun!

Blake's Christmas Party

December 19 was Blake's Christmas party at school. Dylan and I got there a couple minutes before it started so we could help the room moms set up. The school told us prior to the event that we could sign the kids out early that day to start our vacation early, but Blake didn't want to miss anything at school so he told me that he wanted to stay for the rest of the day. Well, after the party all his friends had gone home and I told his teacher how he was sad about missing something so she talked to him and said he wasn't going to miss anything....then he changed his mind and wanted to go home with us, so he left school at about 11.

They had some ice cream sandwiches and then made a picture frame for the parents.

We played some games, Blake gave his teacher her present and then we left. It is a public school, but it is in the state of Texas, so they were able to say Merry Christmas to the kids...that shouldn't be a big deal, but I am glad that they are allowed to say it at our school. On our way home, we stopped off at Cohen's house for the last time.

Dylan's Preschool Christmas Party

A couple of weeks ago I went to Dylan's Christmas party at his school. They sang some songs and Dylan actually participated.

Aren't they cute?
