Mother's Day

Sunday, May 14 was Mother's Day and I didn't take any pictures. The boys made me breakfast and dinner. Blake made me a key chain at school, which is actually pretty cute. He also did a little story and picture of himself that one of the mom's at school took of him. It is called The Best Part of Me. I guess this is a real book, but they just took the idea from the book and wrote about the best part of  them. Blake picked his legs as the best part of him because he is super fast. It was really cute to see how excited the boys were to give me their gifts. They worked hard on them.

Hope all the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Brexton's Birthday Party

May 13--in the morning we did yard work, the boys swam and then I took Blake to Brexton's birthday party. It was Star Wars themed.

Brexton and Blake.

Cowboy Park

May 12--Friday, we met Beckett at the park. We played for awhile, then his mom and brother had to leave, so Beckett stayed and played with us. We stopped by the library on our way home. Beckett played with us at our house until it was time to get Blake. We had fun at the park--it was raining a little and a little cooler.

Right after school, we went to the doctor for Blake's well check. He is doing just fine. He is still super tall. We got Dylan's orders for his bloodwork and ultrasound too while we were there. Blake talked with his doctor about super heroes. It was an intriguing conversation. His doctor has all boys too.

Muffins with Mom

May 10--Muffins with Mom at Dylan's preschool. Aaron was in Florida again this week. The Pre-K classes all met in the quad and did some songs for all their moms. This is Dylan's class.

It was really cute, but some of these moms were totally decked out. I was running errands and was cleaning before I came. I love that Dylan doesn't care at all what I am wearing. Some of these little girls were critiquing their mom's outfits. Girls--totally different world.

This is what we ate.

I love reading these.

Dylan and his buddy Nolan.

The next day I finally got my haircut. School is wrapping up, so I am trying to get lots of things taken care of.

Swimming

Monday we had no soccer practice and the water was warm enough for the boys to jump in after dinner. They were soooooo happy in the pool. This is their first time in this year. The water was warm enough in March, but we didn't get a chance to go in, but then we keep getting all these storms that cool the water down.

My Grandma slipped and fell on Sunday so had to go to the hospital. Monday she had surgery because she fractured her hip and the area around the fracture crumbled like a cookie...those are my mom's words. They put a "nail" and screw in. She is 93 years old. She will have physical therapy, but things went really well in surgery.

Last Soccer Game for the Season

Blake's game was at 9am. There were no problems with the mom. We played the team that has 2 white kids, so we did not win.

We hurried home and then Blake and I changed and headed over to a local school to help plant trees and pick up trash with our pack. This was a fun service project. Connie got 3 oak trees donate, Lana got the project approved by the district and the rounds people and I coordinated it all. Yep, I had the easiest task. Less then half of our boys were there, but it was still fun and they did great.

Blake was a hard worker, so were a couple of the other boys.

We came home and ate lunch, and  then went to Dylan's game. It was much hotter by 2pm when Dylan had his game and he shuts down in the heat, so he played, but not his best.

Cowboy Park

May 4--I made sure Aaron would be home this night because I had to get all my paperwork turned in for twilight camp and do all my training. It started at 6:15 and finished at 9:30. Love this stuff.

May 5--we met friends at the park. Beautiful day. We had a lot of fun.

Blake's Make Up Soccer Game

May 1--I didn't get any pictures, but we went to the park with our friends Maci and Brian. Their oldest brother, Brexton is getting baptized in a couple weeks. While they were playing, my friend Kathryn came with her daughter, Izzie. She had just registered her at school. She will go to the same school as Dylan. It seems like we know so many kids for kinder next year. We will see who Dylan has and who his classmates will be. Dylan had his last practice that night.

May 2--I went and registered and turned in all the paperwork for Dylan to be in kindergarten in the fall. It is so exciting. I made my last preschool tuition payment  that same day..also exciting to not have to pay anymore preschool tuition. He is so excited for kindergarten. He got his Pre-K evaluation back from school. His teachers say he has no problem making friends and everyone in the class loves him. He knows all his letters, their sounds, all numbers..can count by 1s, and 10s...to 100 something. He can read all his sight words and can sound out words that aren't his sight words. He can add, but can't subtract. Yes, he is ready for kinder.

That night we had Blake's make up soccer game. Well, Coleman had 2 amazing goals and we won the game, but there was a huge amount of drama after the game. We have a mom on the team that yells a lot and yells at our coaches. Weird right? Anyway, long story short, the commissioner and his minions were at the game on Saturday because the mom and dad were threatening people. By the way, the other people on the team are extremely nice people. They said  an officer would be there too, but I didn't ever see an officer or at least not one in uniform, but I saw 4 big wigs there who talked to the lady, coaches, etc. Whatever. It was a HUGE ordeal that week, I spent way too much time talking with people about what happened.

We also saw Blake's primary teacher at the field next to ours. She was watching her daughter.

Maddie's Birthday Party

April 29, Saturday. A huge storm was supposed to hit the night before. Most things scheduled for Saturday were cancelled because of the potential of a hail storm. But the birthday parties were not. I took Dylan to Maddie's Moana themed party. Aaron took Blake to Kevin's birthday party at the same time.

Maddie's party started with water games. Guess who made sure everyone was not only wet, but drenched...yep, it was Dylan. Dylan would chase some of the kids down. Some of the kids (the girls) came up to me and told me Dylan was getting them wet. Um, aren't you at a water party and aren't you in your swim suit? No sympathy.

We ate food and played games and had a pinata.

We had to leave a little early because Dylan had a soccer game, even though I felt a little bit of rain at the party and the sky was looking very threatening.

So we went to the game. We were in the 3rd quarter and the sirens went off. It detects when lightning strikes within 15 miles. The games are then on hold for 30 minutes after no lightning strikes. Luckily  the coaches of our game just called it, so game over for us. They don't keep score of these games so it doesn't really matter. Although we were winning. We won all our games by a lot.

Sunday, after church, we went over to Aaron's cousin, Amy's house. Amy's mom and dad were in town. It was fun to see Becky and Kent. We had dinner and talked while the kids played. The kids have so much fun together. Becky and Kent are looking to move to Heber, Utah.

Dallas Zoo

April 28, Friday. Cambria invited us to go with her to the zoo. So, we knew that the grand opening of the hippo exhibit was that day, but we didn't think it would be a big deal. Wrong. Everyone and their dog were there. It was ridiculous. Who cares about a hippo exhibit? Well, all of DFW apparently.

Dylan and Beckett. I guess I never for a picture of Ledger.

This is the hippo exhibit. It is very pretty and huge. There were a ton of news reporters there. This is the kind of news we have in DFW...exciting  town.

Can you tell by Dylan's hair that it was humid? It was hot, but it was humid.

We had to leave to go home to get the kids from school. Next year we won't be able to go on these outings with Beckett.
