Arboretum

Monday the boys had school off for Columbus Day. Thanks Columbus...we went to the Arboretum because the pumpkins were out and the boys have been dying to go and we weren't disappointed.

They do like to find the interesting ones.

The one on the left looked like a snake.

Blake was very sad that BYU wasn't included.

It was exhausting.

Superman and Ironman...on pumpkins.

We also went to the Children's section.

We are experiencing "fall". We have cooled down at night to somewhere in the 60s, but we are still in the 90s during the day. So, we were hot by about 1pm and headed home to go swimming.

Awesome Prayer and Open House

Yesterday at lunch, Dylan said the prayer. In part of his prayer he said, "I know that the zip line that I built is awesome!" (The zip line that he was referring to is above and was pretty proud of it apparently)

Later that night Dylan had an open house for his school at the same time that Blake had a soccer game. Aaron went to Blake's game and I went to Dylan's school. Dylan was sad that Blake couldn't go with him to see his school so I took videos and pictures to share with Blake.

This is Dylan's cubby on the outside of his class.

With his letter A project.

Letter D project.

All of these things not a surprise except a swimmer?! I know he loves to swim, but hmmmm.

His teachers gave him M&Ms on the way out. No wonder why he loves his teachers so much. I asked them if he is a good kid and if there is anything that we should be working on. They said that he is a great example. They never have to remind him to be nice, share, etc. They said that he is a great leader and that he is always smiling. I thanked them for being such great teachers because he comes home happy every  time and says how much he loves them. Ms. Shannon then followed me out the room and told me that she just adores Dylan. She has 3 girls and no boys in her family so she loves having Dylan.

We couldn't leave without him showing me the playground. No surprise that this is one of his favorite things.

And then he showed me where they have chapel and music. He felt like such a big boy showing me around his school.

We got home before Blake, but when they got home we shared videos and I saw Blake almost score a goal. This was the closest yet. They won their game.  Apparently this team was a really good team, but the Dragons held them off. Good job guys!

New Bed

Dylan and I have been hunting for a bed for him for awhile. I might be slightly picky so I hadn't found anything. We decided to go visit a store that was a little bit of a drive, but I knew they had a lot of inventory. Well, we found one and I decided to put it in the car rather then pay the money for delivery.

Dylan helped put it together and then take down his old bed.

He loves his new bed. I'm glad I can finally check that off my list. I'm also excited because he turns 4 soon so he can have a booster seat. He already meets the height and weight requirements, so we might switch him over sooner. Our little boy is growing up.

Happy Anniversary

Monday was our 14th anniversary! We celebrated a couple weeks ago, which we have to write about sometime. Brief summary, we went to dinner and then did something called Trapped in a room with a Zombie. It was super fun. Sunday we opened some presents.

Monday the boys were at school so I went grocery shopping. I found a pumpkin, which we had to decorate once they got home from school.

They love Halloween.

Saturday Soccer

Saturday morning Dylan had his game, which Tito came to.

Aaron was the coach.

As great as Aaron did as the coach, the team lost.

Then we went to Home Depot and made a fire truck.

And then got to see a real fire truck.

We came home watched some conference, did some yard work and then headed to Blake's game.

It had warmed up plenty by then.

Blake did well. Each week he improves. The team won. They actually are a good team.

Heard Museum

Friday we woke up to cooler weather again, so off to the Heard Museum we went. Even cooler were the dinosaurs. Dylan was so excited to see them.

Yes, Tito came too.

We played in the villages.

Saw the butterflies. They were beautiful.

Went inside to dig for bones.

Then back outside for lunch and back to the villages. Dylan met a friend, Chase. They had a great time together.

After we picked up Blake from school, we went and got our flu shots. Actually, I got the shot and the boys got the nasal mist or whatever it is called. They were very pleased not to get a poky thing.

Neighborhood Park Day

The previous day my friend had just come back from Denver and she said the high was like 75...she said this as we were sitting there is 92 degree weather. Well, Thursday morning I woke up and it was 60 degrees when I went running...amazing..and then the high was in the upper 70s.

It made it perfect weather to go to the park. Our HOA gets together the 1st Thursday of the month at a different park within the HOA. This month it was the park right by our house so we went.

And Scooby Do was there. We met some folks and had  fun. In fact we met a little 2 1/2 year old Benton and his 4 month old sister and their mom. Well, we went and had dinner at their house last night. They are a fun family. And small world...Benton's preschool teacher is our friend, Michelle.

Later that night we went to Blake's soccer practice, so we took Tito with us.

Tito the Tiger

Last Wednesday when I picked Dylan up from school his teacher told me that he was selected to take Tito (their class mascot) home for the weekend and then write about all the adventures they had together. Dylan was excited.

So he read to him.

And he came with us to pick up Blake.
