Saturday with the Easter Bunny and Soccer Games

April 8: We went to our HOA and kicked off Easter with an Easter Egg hunt.

They got balloon swords.

Bounced in the bounce houses.

Then raced home to open the goodies and then left for soccer games.

The games were overlapping so I went to Dylan's and Aaron went to Blake's.

Dylan's got done so we ran over to his game and caught the last couple minutes. They both played great! Blake played Caleb's team so we got to chat with his parents for a little bit.

Fun at the Park

That week I had to get my physical. My toe has been killing me and this doctor had no clue what the problem was. I also spent time finding a solution to our Lego storage problem. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but I love it. Everything is organized by color and smaller pieces are in their own organizer. It makes me happy.

I also had to get my car fixed...front brakes and alignment.

So by the end of the week Dylan and I wanted to go play at the park before picking up Blake from school.

Wolf Den Hike

April 5--I joined the den and went on a hike with the boys. Part of the hike was to go get slurpees. Blake said it was a walk, not a hike. I totally agree. They still had fun. Caleb was his buddy.

What To Do After It Rains

Sunday morning we went over to some friends' house for a pot luck breakfast before conference. Conference doesn't start until 11am. While we were at their house it started to pour. After conference the boys needed to get out some energy and their was a break in the rain, so off we went. Dylan wanted to run and not ride his bike. They each made sure to go through every single puddle the could see. They loved every minute of it.

They needed showers that night!

Soccer Games and Pictures

April 1--We had a long day at the soccer fields. Blake had pictures and then a game. While Blake's game was going on, Dylan had his pictures and  then he had his game. Aaron saw Blake's game and then came over and caught the end of Dylan's game.

We didn't buy the pictures so this is as good as we are going to get. Aaron has the pictures of Blake's team.

Night Furry: Coach Jay (blue) and Coach Ryan (Gray). Kids: Case, Jackson, Hudson, Dylan, Samuel, Truett, Marcos and Grady.

I know I have said it before, but we really like this team. Dylan is making progress. Ryan is a great coach.

The boys dominated the game.

We went home and watched General Conference.

Play Group Party

We have a group of about 10 moms and their young kids who get together most Fridays. Someone in our ward won a party to a local indoor play place. No one was having a birthday, but we had pizza and cupcakes to celebrate...um, spring? I think these 3 boys ate a whole pizza by themselves.

Best friends. It is going to be a little sad next year when Dylan goes to Kindergarten and Beckett is still at preschool and they won't get to play as much together.

Another Damaging Storm

So, I get to play catch up...again. Refer back to the March 27 post. At the end I mentioned that another storm was in the forecast. Well, it happened and Aaron was out of town. (Side note, we looked at his Marriott points at the end of March and he had 32 nights in a Marriott YTD. Yes, he has been traveling a lot! He doesn't always stay in Marriott either).

The wind was crazy. The tornado siren didn't go off though. The next morning I went to see the damage. Our patio furniture had been tossed all around our yard.

Took Dylan to school which is under 2 miles and saw about 20 large trees split in half. This was in his school parking lot.

I went to the store and this was probably my favorite. Totally had to do a double take. You have to look close.

Here it is from the back side....the trampoline was tossed up on the wall. I heard from others about a trampoline tossed in the middle of a busy street. Believe me now that the winds here can be bad? Luckily we had no damage...that I could see. It made me happy that we had a ridiculously heavy trampoline for once.

More Baptism Pictures

Jon and Cindy Kubis. Cindy and Aaron worked together in CA. They moved out to Dallas about 3 years before we did. They live about an hour from us, but we see each other a couple times a year. I run into Jon all the time at Costco. They aren't members, but loved coming.

Kenny is Blake's best friend and he came...it made Blake so happy. He invited Mrs. Sias, his teacher from last year....and well, she just happens to be Kenny's mom so she came too. He invited his teacher from this year, but she couldn't come, but she did put the invitation up in her room.

Blake's friend Brexton who used to be in our ward, but moved into another ward.

Aaron's cousin Amy and 2 of her kids--Madison and Landon...David was holding Riley and they didn't make it in the pictures. We see them a lot...the only family who lives close.

The Waller family. Chad (the dad) isn't a member and Laresa travels a lot with work, but when I invited her she said she would make sure to be in town. So glad they were able to make it.

Melody Talbot and son Colton--Blake's teacher and his friend.

Sister Luthi--Blake's primary teacher from last year. She is a stud...has had cancer 4 times and is just an amazing person. She claims she doesn't play the piano well so she won't play in front of people, but she loves Blake so much that she did it...and did a great job.

Some of his church buddies again. We didn't get pictures of a lot of people who came...it is pretty tough, but we are so grateful for everyone who were able to come and for the well wishes from those who weren't able to attend!

Blake's Baptism Day

Here is another picture of Blake before his baptism.

After the baptism, the boys finished Blake's pinewood derby car. Aaron left 2 days after the baptism to go to Argentina for work and was going to miss the pinewood derby so Blake made sure it was all done.

Then we colored Easter eggs for Easter the next day.

Blake's Baptism

Blake was baptized last Saturday, April 15 at 11am. We had a lot of friends come and even some family. They had to keep adding more rows as more and more people showed up. We are so appreciative of the support from our family and friends.

Since it was the day before Easter all sports were cancelled. (Love Texas for doing this). These are pictures that my friend Cambria took for us.

Blake was really excited to be baptized. He studied for it by learning about the purpose, etc. What he was super excited for was  to get a CTR ring from the Bishopric, which he called his Green Lantern ring. He got to pick everyone who participated in the program.

Pianist--Sister Luthi (primary teacher last year)
Chorister--Hailey Decker (babysitter)
Opening Prayer--Connie Woods (Den leader)
Baptism Talk-Grandma Bass
Witnesses for Baptism--Grandpa Bass and Sean Neumann (Neumann's are our good friends)
Confirmation--Shawn Preator(Bishopric), Aaron, Grandpa, Rusty Bishop (our family home teachers them), Sean Neumann, Scott Smart (our home teacher), David Stott (Aaron's cousin's husband...the other family members who were able to attend)
Talk on Holy Ghost--Melody Talbot (current primary teacher...also my friend and VT and mother of Blake's friend, Colton)
Closing Prayer--Cambria Neumann

After the program we had some goodies--cookies, zucchini bread and a veggie tray...we had leftovers of the veggies.

His church buddies: Caleb Campbell, Kaden Woods and Reese Anderson--Blake is the youngest of the group. There was a YM activity so a lot of the dads were at that activity.

The Quarve's. Their mom and I are good friends. What a ladies' man.

The Neumann family. Cambria, Sean, Kelsey, Beckett and Ledger.

Connie Woods

It was a beautiful day. The weather was perfect.....very windy, but perfect temperature.

Mom and Dad with Blake....so proud of you, Blake.
