Living Museum

February 27--Aaron and I were both able to go into work a little late so we could see Dylan, oh, I  mean, Henry Ford. They do research in class and write the speech. A few days before his presentation I asked him if he needed help memorizing his speech. Um, no...he had it memorized. I think he has a photographic memory. The only kid in the whole 2nd grade who didn't use notes. Also, according to my friend who was there , 1 of 2 kids that she could actually understand. Good job buddy!

Charlie is in our ward. Dylan's hair wasn't long enough to pull off Henry Ford hair, but Charlie nailed that hair.

Later that day I picked the boys up from school then we got home and someone knocked on the door. It was Aaron's sister, Tiffanie and her daughter, Lexi. We knew they were coming, but they said they would come to our house at 8pm. Apparently their flight changed like 3 weeks previous and forgot to tell us. Oh well. Lexi had a cheer competition in Dallas so spent a couple of days with us.

Soccer Game

February 22--Dylan had his first soccer game of the season. He plays defender and goalie. He says he likes them both.

Earlier in the week, I went to a parent meeting at the middle school for Blake. Yep, he starts middle school next year. It was really helpful. The principal gave the presentation, who we know pretty well. It was kind of fun to walk into the auditorium and see so many parents that we know from other places--from church, from sports teams, etc...because we have several elementary schools going to this middle school. Blake had to pick his classes for next year. They are required to take a fine arts class, so he picked choir. And they had to decide between what they call academic Math or Pre-AP Math. I emailed his teacher to ask her opinion and to have her talk to Blake about it because Blake thought he should do the academic math. She emailed me back and said, um, he would be so bored in academic math. So she did  talk to him and that gave him confidence to take the Pre-AP class. Then he found out his 2 best buddies are taking that class  too so he was even more excited. Blake is pretty excited about middle school. I have talked to him a lot about it on our runs.

Henry Ford

Dylan designed the presentation. We bought the truck at Hobby Lobby because we can always get stuff on sale there and the flags. The other 2 cars were Christmas presents from my folks....these kids really like cars, especially nice cars.

President's Day

February 17--Since it was President's Day, the boys didn't have school, so we went to the park. It was a really nice day!

I saw one of my students from last year.

After the park, we ran some errands, including going to Hobby Lobby to get some items for Dylan's school project. He is studying Henry Ford. Dylan is never excited to go to Hobby Lobby, but this time he was. He loved doing this project!

Happy Valentine's Day

February 14--the boys had their parties back to back, which was great for me.

Then I met Aaron for lunch, then came home and got the boys from school. They got a card and some money from my Grandma in the mail.

Valentine's Day Goodies

February 13--At work, we had our class party. We have identical twin girls. They are always dressed exactly the same and their hair is always done the same...and always very cute. How cool is this heart in her hair? 

My parents sent the boys a fun Valentine's day present from BYU bookstore. It is a robot that you build and then you can program.

I got a lot of goodies from my kiddos at work, including these....Blake and Dylan really like when I bring home goodies home from work.

Last Basketball Games of the Season

February 8--Dylan had his game.

We had Dylan's team party. Then we had a show that this family put on. They take their family across the US doing this show. It was pretty cool...I mean, not amazing, but entertaining. 

We lucked out and Dylan and Blake's teams went to the show at the same time.

Then it was time for Blake's game, where his coach put him in as a forward and sometimes even the center. This really isn't his position, but his coach thinks because of his height, that it is his position.

They both had a great season. Now....soccer season.
