Home Depot..Again

We went to Home Depot again to do a project...surprise! The kids love doing these projects. Aaron is in Turkey so I was a little occupied while we were making the projects (especially while they were painting them) so I couldn't get any pictures.

Here are the finished boats.

Of course Woody needed to join the crew.

Houston

While my mom was in town, she watched the kids for the weekend so Aaron and I could get away for the weekend and go to the BYU vs. University of Houston game in Houston. Our hotel was right by the stadium.

It was a crazy game. I don't think Aaron's voice lasted more then 10 minutes.

I got this picture for my parents because Yeck was in their first mission. His parents apparently drove down for the game as well. Too bad he didn't have a good game.

You get to see a lot more things at the game then you do when you are watching it on tv, obviously, but I noticed that Taysom Hill would go get check out by the trainers all the time. Tough being the QB sometimes.

I think this was at half time.

The refs were terrible (to be nice) and I thought that perhaps the fact that they were drinking powerade had something to do with how they were playing. Maybe KVN had too much powerade and so that's why he was MIA?!

We sat in box seats with Aaron's brother, Adam, and Adam's wife's entire family...okay, most of the family. In the box next to us was Cecil Samuelson and Tom Holmoe. Aaron got a better picture of the 2 of them, but it is on his phone so he will have to post it sometime. Those guys both really got into the game, but Tom especially did. Good to see they support the team.

It was fun to see Adam and Becki's family. Totally crazy, but one of Becki's brothers married a girl from my freshmen dorm...she was at the game. Small world.

We had fun...mostly because...

We won!!!! Take that refs!

Dylan's Birthday Party

Since Grandma was here, we decided to have a little birthday party for Dylan...a couple weeks early.

He got Buzz Lightyear.

Thomas the train.

And a helicopter.

Making sure it works.

Both kids loved the presents.

Dylan is a little obsessed with Buzz.

We got an oreo ice cream cake.

Yep, still obsessed with Buzz.

Dylan and Grandma!

Heard Museum Again

We liked the museum so much, we decided to go again later that week when Grandma came to town as part of Dylan's birthday party.

Crazy boys!

Once again, ended up at the houses. It is a great place for them to run off some energy.

And you know, clean the dirt?

One of the houses has a balcony.

Heard Museum

We heard from some friends that there was a fun "museum" (I wouldn't call it a museum, more like an outdoor sanctuary or something) just a few miles from the house. We decided to check it out since they had a dinosaur exhibit going on.

Blake's favorite is the T-rex...and from Dylan's face you can tell that the T-Rex is not his favorite.

They also have some houses that you can play in. This is the kids' favorite part.

Taking a break from running around.

Boo'd

The very beginning of October we were boo'd. Someone left us a ton of goodies in a cute Halloween bag, with a fun poem to go with it saying that we need to boo 2 people in the neighborhood and to put the enclosed ghost on our window so everyone else knows we have been boo'd already.

It made their day! We late made some cookies and took them to 2 houses. Blake loved dropping them off at the houses and being like a ninja.

Decorating Pumpkins

While my mom was watching the boys, they carved a pumpkin, but we still had one more pumpkin. We cheated and got the Mr. Potato Head push in pumpkin decorating kit (it was on clearance).

It is still some serious work.

Dylan needs to supervise.

The finished product. No messes to clean up, but no seeds to eat.

Happy Halloween

Aaron's favorite holiday is Halloween, or at least one of them, so of course he was sad to miss the big event this year.

Blake was a special forces guy and Dylan was Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Dylan would even talk like a pirate. We were practicing with Dylan to say Trick or Treat and he every time we would get to a door, he would hold out his bag and say..."candy"! Our talk was obviously very effective.

Blake salutes you all. I didn't think much of Blake's costume..he thought it was cool, so whatever. We got a huge response for his costume..people saying they have kids currently serving in Iraq or previously served. Great reminder of how many people fight for our freedom.

Okay, so it is hard to get a good picture of them..have I mentioned that before?

He had so much fun!

Blake loved it too...once we got to houses. This morning I told him Happy Halloween. He said, "Mom, it is only Halloween at night time."

Hey Dylan, say cheese. What a kid.
We had a ward trunk or treat at 6-7, so before real trick or treating happened...man, not too many people showed up. Hopefully they do it another night next year.

Blake didn't believe it was trick or treating because it wasn't dark yet, so he wouldn't say trick or treat at our ward trick or treat. Why does he need to think about things so much sometimes?

They each got to pick out a treat to eat...Aaron would be proud, Blake picked Cheetos. Someone is handing out Frito Lay products!

Dylan picked out a sucker, which is his favorite.

Some houses were awesome, but I couldn't get very good pictures because my kids wanted to get more candy. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!
