The Alamo and The Riverwalk

Saturday morning, we went downtown to The Alamo.

No pictures are allowed inside the shrine.

This is a picture of the room that the women and children were in to stay safe. There were a lot of drawings on the walls that they are trying to restore from inside this room. They claim they are from the women, but I have to imagine that the kids were drawing on the walls too. You think a kid wouldn't draw on the wall after seeing their mom do it? Who has kids who haven't wanted to paint a wall while you are painting? Anyway, they have some fun artifacts to look at.

This is the blurry map of what The Alamo included.

I know the cactus hurts, but does this plant? Let me find out...

After The Alamo, we went to The Riverwalk. It is really interesting. Both The Alamo and Riverwalk are cool to see, but doubt we will ever go back.

We ended up taking a boat tour. Dylan got a little restless, so didn't get many pictures, but we learned a lot about the area. San Antonio has a big German influence. Who knew? It can be seen in some architecture and in a lot of the names of cities nearby.

After downtown, we came back to the hotel and swam. Then the boys caught their second wind right after dinner, so we went to a local park. It was 100 degrees.  Good thing the weather was nice while we were downtown.
