Soccer

Last Saturday, Blake had a game at 9am. The weather was perfect. It was in the low 70s!! Dylan was cold watching. Blake's team played the Strikers. Blake was a defender in the beginning. We need to work on him being aggressive.

They won again and Blake loved playing.

Between games we went over to the park.

Then we got ready for Dylan's game by warming up. Dylan's team is co-ed and it is 3 vs. 3 with no goalie..and the coaches are on the field. Here are the boys warming up.

Dylan played most of the entire game and he did great. His teammate, Tala had the ball most of the time. She was fun to watch. She is aggressive and there was another girl on the other team who was also aggressive. These 2 went at it the whole game, but they are 3 and 4 years old. They would pull on one another's jerseys and when the ball went out  they both would chase after the ball. The best was when Tala scored a goal (I think she scored all our goals) she turned around, put her hand on her hips and just gave her "buddy" the look. It was hilarious.

We are the green team, but our coach wore the other team's colors. Our coaches volunteer their time to coach, so it makes me even more sad that coach's son doesn't ever play or want to practice.

This shows Tala and other girl.

They don't keep score, but Aaron does (and so does Blake) and we won. Dylan did much better this game. He was sometimes in lala land, but then he would actually focus and dribble the ball all the way. What would you think is the favorite part of the game for these kids? The tunnel at the end. The kids give high 5s and then the parents make a tunnel for the kids to run through....they love it.

Later that night we had a baptism and the entire family went. I do these baptisms all the time now so it was fun to have the family with me this time. Later that night I started the BYU game, but didn't make it very far. Why must they have late games?

Monday was Dylan's second day of school. He was excited to go to school and he was super happy when I picked him up. So far he loves his school. His teachers love him, they say he is good at following rules and being kind. It's amazing how they can be when siblings aren't around :) I was able to paint the downstairs bathroom while the boys were at school.

Last week was Grandparent's day at Blake's school. It is a big deal because a lot of grandparents come to eat lunch with their grandkids. I asked Blake if he wanted me to come to lunch with him that day or come the following week, he said next week. (I later found out that him and one other kid in his class didn't have any family there...he was totally fine about it though.) So Dylan and I went today. Blake was surprised and he loved it. Mrs. Sias came up to me and talked to me about Blake and her son, Kenny, who is also in 1st grade. Blake and Kenny play at recess all the time together. Blake plays with others too, but Kenny only plays with Blake. She said that Blake is Kenny's best friend and is super sad that he can't sit together at lunch because he is in a different class, etc. So, she was talking to me about a playdate. I love playdates and Blake was excited for it. I will be chatting with Blake's teacher now about some playdates...along with some school stuff too.
