Trip to CA Day 4

Saturday morning, we went to the South OC cars and coffee. It is a free event with over 500 cars. The boys rode down there with my brother David, in his all electric car, which made Blake's day. All the boys loved this car show, but Blake was in heaven...like he loves this stuff. And luckily he had 2 uncles there to tell them all about the cars.

Question..why would you wrap a McClaren? It made me kind of sad...such a nice car.

Blake loves golden things so when he saw this gold car, he got really excited...so much so that the owner let him sit in the car and he didn't let anyone else.

My favorite car--a viper.

Happens to be Dylan's favorite as well.

A new and and old stingray.

There was a Tesla super charging station. Note: there are so many EVs in CA. The gas is $3.75 per gallon, so it makes sense that more people want EVs.

A model A--this is pretty old.

We came home, played and then got ready for the birthday party. The big  reason we went out to CA is because my mom is turning 65, but she turns 65 on a day that the kids have school, so they moved up the party so we could come. My brother Robert came over early because he had a project to work on, but before we started that, the boys and I went in a ride in his hybrid, which was fun.

The project was to install an expansion kit to my parent's tankless water system. Blake helped as one of his requirements for his arrow of light.

This kid is dedicated--problems came up, but he stuck with it even though his cousins were all out back swimming.

This was his first time soldering. Grandpa showed him some You Tube videos the day before. Robert was a great teacher and explained everything to him....he is an engineer and loves this stuff.

Dylan helped for a couple of minutes.

But went back to swimming.

My Uncle Richard brought his dog Riley, who is a very good dog. Dylan loved playing with him.

They finished.

Blake was able to jump in before we ate.

Then we sang. We celebrated all the summer birthdays. All my brothers and their families were there, my Grandma, my Uncle Richard, and my Sister-in-law's parents.

Seth is really into baseball. He is going to be a freshman this year and is hoping to make the school's team. So, Dylan threw him some balls to hit...a few went over the fence.

My uncle gave all the boys and safe with some money inside. The fun thing is that he set the code and gave him something to solve in order to open the safe--it was kind of like an escape room game. It was very cool and super nice. It wasn't their birthdays, but he said that he never gets to see them on their birthdays. He is such a nice and generous person.

This is what my sister-in-law Sarah rides. Dylan thinks she is super cool because of it.
