July 27--The boys came with me to Hobby Lobby to look for some new decorations. I didn't find anything, but the boys found this huge ornament. That's right....they had Christmas decor out and it was July friends.
July 26--We made beignets in the air fryer and they worked. The previous Sunday we were out on our walk and a family in our ward saw us and stopped us saying they were driving over to our house to drop off a beignet mix. I was confused for a moment because I know we love beignets, but wondered why she would think about us. Then I remembered that we had a RS Activity that was a zoom meeting about what we have done during quarantine and I said how we were making new things, like churros in the air fryer and a bunch of things in the air fryer. How sweet was she to pay attention to that and then bring me something to try out. (Just as a heads up...she is now the RS president and I am one of her counselors. But this story shows how amazing she is. I love, love our previous RS and was grateful to serve with her, but she has been the RS president for 4 years. She was ready for something new--I mean she was happy with what she was doing, but 4 years is long for that calling.
That Friday before we had our friend Adam over for dinner. We always enjoy his crazy stories. We got some details about this coin shortage this time since that is what his job is in.
We had dinner and then did an escape room. We had so much fun and everyone contributed, which was great. And....we did escape.
There is the before and after for the fence.
Here are some before and after pictures of both the inside the house and we ended up having him power wash and stain the fence. He also stained our front door and painted our shudders on the front of our house (which requires a really tall ladder for 1). They did all this work for about 40% of the amount we had budgeted for just painting inside. That included all the paint and stain.
It was hard to pick a color. I had a couple different shades from Sherwin Williams and it was down to Agreeable Gray (what the dining room is) and repose gray. We painted it in different spots in the house and then i went around and tallied which one I liked better in each spot, then added it all up and agreeable gray had the most votes. Then in the nooks I had them use the same darker color that I used in the dining room too (mega greige). Let me tell you it is fun to live with people who don't really care. I don't think I need to change too many decorations, but I looked at Hobby Lobby and didn't find much I loved, so I am still kind of on the lookout.
July 11--We went to Cabela's so that Aaron could talk to them about firearms. It has been so hard to get one. Anyway, this is a store that the boys love to go to. Our Cabela's has a huge fish tank, which we always have to check out. Well, that day one of the huge catfish was very grouchy or very territorial. If any fish came near it, it would try to eat it. It was kind of nuts watching it. There was a little boy there with his dad and the dad told him that they were just playing.
I found these and loved them.
We also had a painter come by to give us a quote. Aaron and I had a budget and when he told us his price we immediately asked him when he could start. He came a couple of days later and painted a lot of the inside of the house. The main living area. He did an amazing job.
July 10--We picked up Ledger and Beckett and took them with us to the park. We hadn't been to this park all summer so we checked it out. It was hot so not too many people were there, which made it even more fun. We stayed for 3 hours, then went to our house and they played and then I took them home. These boys get along so well and have so much fun together.
