Friday Fun

Thursday, Grandma and Grandpa took Dylan to the movies while I went and helped at Blake's school. It was fun to get to know the kids that I didn't know. Blake loved that I was there. His teacher only has helpers come in on Tuesday and Thursday which are both days that Dylan doesn't have school, so it was fun that Grandma and Grandpa were able to play with Dylan so that I could go.

Thursday night was busy so it was nice to have more hands. I had an Activity Days party to go to and then a Stake meeting. Aaron and the gang went to Blake's soccer practice, then Aaron had a presidency meeting. Aaron and I were able to make it to both our meetings because we had some helpers.

Friday we went shopping. Dylan and Grandpa went to Cabella's while Grandpa and I looked at clothing stores. When we picked them up, Dylan had to show us the cool stuff in the store. He was very excited to show us.

That night, Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids while Aaron and I went out on a date. We found a groupon deal for another room escape. No one had ever escaped the room and we didn't get out either. We did get the farthest. The clue that we were stuck on was pretty tricky. They told us the solution afterwards and well, I don't think we would've ever gotten it. Oh well, it was still fun. We then went and got some dinner.

Happy Birthday Dylan

Last Wednesday Dylan woke up early because he was so excited for his birthday. He really wanted to open presents before school, so they both got ready in record time.

He got to open his other presents from Grandma and Grandpa. It was superman and his motorcycle. The open that he opened on Saturday was Wolverine and a vehicle.

They also gave him a BYU growth chart.

We gave him a Superman action figure. Super excited about that. Superman stuff is hard to find in stores, but Amazon didn't let us down.

He got Joker legos.

We also found Superman bed sheets. He was actually pretty excited about it. We washed them and Grandma put them on his bed before he got home from school.

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson sent him a card and some money to go pick out something. He was pretty excited to pick something out. Great-Grandma sent him a card too with some birthday money.  Thank you everyone!

We took Blake to school and then we took Dylan to school. They had a big fall festival that day and they wore their costumes and did a parade. He was pretty excited.

Beckett on the other hand was not very excited about it.

Here is some of his class--the Tiger class. There are 11 kids. Ms Shannon is little red ridding hood on the left. Ms. Christy was on vacation.

It was his turn to be the caboose.

Later my folks and I went to Blake's school to watch him in his Lucky's Loop. It is their fundraiser.

Aren't they cute kids?

Blake is in the blue shorts and his teacher is in the black pants.

The people marking off laps were all people we know so they all were encouraging Blake. Here is Karen encouraging Blake. Our friend Chad is the other one and Coach Michelle is the other one. (Blake's soccer coach).

Here he is with Hannah--Dylan's soccer coach's daughter who is in the same grade as Blake.

I didn't put the picture of Kenny and Blake. Those 2 buddies ran most of the time together. Here is his class.

Blake did awesome. He had 31 laps. Well, we think it was 31--kind of hard to read some of those tally marks. He is a runner for sure.

We then came home and ate lunch, then headed over to Dylan's school for cupcakes. This is what Dylan requested. Chocolate cupcakes, red frosting and black spiders on top.

Do you think he was happy? Wow, he thought he was pretty special.

He requested jumbo pasta shells for dinner. Then we had some cupcakes.

This was a surprise for the boys. They have always wanted a piƱata, but they are expensive. Well, I found Spiderman on clearance for $5. Done. They had such a blast.

Happy birthday Dylan! We love you! I can't believe you are 4 already.

Lunch with Blake

On Tuesday, we all went to Blake's school to have lunch with him. Blake requested this and was so happy when Grandma and Grandpa came.

Perot Museum

Sunday we had our Primary Program. Grandma and Grandpa were able to see it. The boys did great. The had their lines memorized and Blake knew all the songs...Dylan knew most. All the kids did great. We didn't have anyone say anything or do anything crazy. They sounded fabulous and we got a lot of positive feedback.  I am also very happy that it is done.

Monday morning I met with Blake's teacher for parent teacher conference. Blake is doing well. He needs to work on his penmanship. She said that he gets along really well with everyone in class and that he focuses really well. Once recess time comes, he lets it all out. Perfect.

Since the boys had the day off of school because of parent teacher conference, we went to the Perot museum. Our school district had the day off, but no other local school districts. It was the perfect day to go. No one was there.

We went to race the TRex, but it wasn't working, so they did the sport tracker. Dylan kicked a soccer ball.

Grandpa shot a basketball.

Then you watch the video in slow motion to see how you can improve. You can also compare it to professionals.

We then went over to the children's section and looked at some bugs.

Drove a truck.

Drove over Grandpa.

Then Grandpa thought it would be safer inside the truck, until he realized there was no leg room for people over the age of 10.

They did some building.

Then we went back to the TRex and it was open...with no lines. So they raced over and over again.

After lunch we went to the robot room. This is a favorite for everyone.

Before heading home, they played on the frogs outside. It started out as a cool day, but turned out to be a really nice day.
