Obstacle Warrior Kids

August 4--We went to Obstacle Warrior kids again. While the kids played I talked to my Grandma. She is in a retirement home and have been so restricted. It was great talking with her. She has such a great attitude with her situation. It would sure be hard for me,  but she has her routine and is able to go walk around the place every morning. We were able to see her place last year and it is really beautiful.

Masks

I asked my mom to make us some masks that would be comfortable to wear at school all day. The boys have ties...but there are some different versions. Then Blake got a little crazy and put lots of them on. Thanks for making all these!!

Fun With Friends

Dylan had Caleb over to play. Earlier in the week we went to the playground at the school. Dylan came up to me and said I'm actually going to miss Caleb not being at my school. Earlier this month, Caleb moved about 10 minutes away which means different schools from here on out.

When he came over Blake and I were downstairs and I heard him Dylan saying "Tree of Life" and "temple". After Caleb went home, we asked him about it and he said that he was telling Caleb about the tree of life and about temples. He created this lego creation to explain--one way it is a temple and then flip it around and it is the tree of life. I love how it was just this casual conversation that they had. Caleb's dad is a pastor for a congregation in our city so they are a very religious family.

August 1--Dylan went to his friend, Max's birthday party. They finished their pool in March, but it was the first time I got to see it. It was so cool. I love their backyard.

While Dylan was at the party, we went to a dumpling place. Aaron loves dumplings and a friend had told me about this place when this lock down started. It was a little far and Dylan doesn't love dumplings so we thought this was the perfect time to go. It was so yummy. Aaron doesn't like it as much as the one in China (they also have a restaurant in CA which we go to when we are out to), but it is the best dumplings by us.

When we got back, Blake and I went and picked him up. We got there just in time for the pinata.

Here is Max opening Dylan's present...some fun nerf guns.

Typing

My kids aren't very good at typing, so I had them take some typing classes. They were helpful, but we had to stop them once school started.

Dylan is our steak guy, well, our meat guy. Aaron found a good deal at Costco for some Filets. Dylan liked Tbone (his favorite) still over Filet Mignon.

The day before this I went to lunch with a friend. It was so much fun. We see each other most mornings because she walks with her husband and I am running with one kid, but it was fun to sit down and catch up.

Obstacle Warrior Kids

July 29--In the morning, we picked up Blake's MacBook Air from the school district's football stadium (which is huge by the way). Then we went to Obstacle Warrior Kids because I found out that they are closing their doors and we still had our pass, so we needed up go as much as we could before it closed. There was no one there. It was great.

Hobby Lobby

July 27--The boys came with me to Hobby Lobby to look for some new decorations. I didn't find anything, but the boys found this huge ornament. That's right....they had Christmas decor out and it was July friends.

Beignets

July 26--We made beignets in the air fryer and they worked. The previous Sunday we were out on our walk and a family in our ward saw us and stopped us saying they were driving over to our house to drop off a beignet mix. I was confused for a moment because I know we love beignets, but wondered why she would think about us. Then I remembered that we had a RS Activity that was a zoom meeting about what we have done during quarantine and I said how we were making new things, like churros in the air fryer and a bunch of things in the air fryer. How sweet was she to pay attention to that and then bring me something to try out. (Just as a heads up...she is now the RS president and I am one of her counselors. But this story shows how amazing she is. I love, love our previous RS and was grateful to serve with her, but she has been the RS president for 4 years. She was ready for something new--I mean she was happy with what she was doing, but 4 years is long for that calling.

That Friday before we had our friend Adam over for dinner. We always enjoy his crazy stories. We got some details about this coin shortage this time since that is what his job is in.

Little Elm Beach and Escap Room

July 23-We went to Little Elm Beach again. We really like this place. We would go more often if it was closer. We went to the park first, but it was super hot, so we didn't last too long at the park.

We could spend all day there, but instead we were gone about 4 hours. They caught some little minnows. They are on the bottom of the picture.

We had dinner and then did an escape room. We had so much fun and everyone contributed, which was great. And....we did escape.
