Dylan is 9 months old. After a week of him occasionally throwing up and not sleeping at night and being in pain when you would try to put him down...and after not eating for most of the day (which is uncharacteristic of him) we went to the hospital. Many hours later it was determined that he had a hernia, which we figured. Hernia? Um, yes, he has had surgery for an umbilical hernia, but now it was more in his groin. It shouldn't be painful but the doctor tried to push his intestines back in he screamed. We knew this midget was in pain, but we were sent home with instructions to see the surgeon first thing Monday morning. The first surgery opening was next Thursday, so we have to wait a week and a half. Aaron was in Dallas all week so it was a very long week with very little sleep. Dylan has some other issues that add to the problems with his hernia and when he cries, it pushes his intestines out and causes more pain. Thursday we will go back to the hospital for surgery...and the surgeon thinks he actually has 2 hernias.
Dylan is crawling around everywhere and getting into everything. He is very curious. He loves to wave. Today Aaron and Blake left to run an errand. Later Dylan heard the door open (but we were upstairs and couldn't see the front door), so he said, "Daddy" and then started to wave. I thought it was very cute.
One night while Dylan was not sleeping, I asked him, "Dylan should we go to bed?" and then Dylan shook his head...no no no. A couple minutes later I said, "Dylan, I think we should sleep" and then Dylan laughs.
This is just how exhausted he was...fell asleep eating dinner. I kind of wanted to join him.
