Splash Pad

Saturday we found out that our friends, the Schwarz were moving to Iowa in a week. He lost his job and the only job he found was in Iowa. They aren't too excited about the location, but glad there is a job. Since Aaron was going to be in NY all week, we had them over for dinner on Sunday. Adam is Aaron's secretary and they have very similar personalities. Well, Adam doesn't have a filter. Adam and Aaron have become really good friends and we hang out a lot...especially come football season. (These are the hardcore Utah fans). Anyway, we are going to miss them. They have really cute girls. One is Blake's age (but the height of Dylan..maybe even shorter).

Monday we went to the scout store for our pack meeting later this week. We came home and swam for 2 hours and then we heard thunder, so we got out of the pool. It poured for about 2 hours.

Today we did some stuff around the house and then after lunch we met the Neumanns at the park. We hadn't talked much since our trip. Our kids love to play together. We were there for about 1 1/2 hours and then they had to leave, so my kids were eating a snack when thunder started. So we left. It didn't rain at our house, but we found out that it poured in most other places in our city. Dylan had his last soccer practice for his indoor team.

Soccer Games

Saturday morning we had a lot of yard work to do since we missed the previous weekend. Then we went to Dylan's soccer game. We need 5 people to play and we started the game with 4...eventually we had 6, so the kids were pretty tired at the end. Dylan played a lot better this game or at least in the beginning before he was tired. They lost though.

We went to the library afterwards then came home and swam. Then we went back for Blake's game. They play with 8 players plus a goalie. We had 7 players. The other team had 16 players. Our team was very tired and they also lost.

Morning at the Park

When we got back from our trip we were busy catching up on things. But Friday morning we went to the park before it got too hot.

More Boat and Beach Pictures

The boys were excited for the boat ride.

CA Park Pictures

Here are some pictures from James of our day at the park on the first day of our CA trip.

I was noticing a ton of teenagers at the park, which I thought was pretty weird. Then I realized they were there because of Pokemon Go. Ridiculous.

More Family Pictures

My Aunt Lyn, Uncle Carl and cousin Caryn.

With Grandma.

Uncle Richard with Haig. Haig is pretty cool...I hope our family isn't too crazy for him.

I like Dylan's face in this one.

Someone suggested they hug each other.

This is their normal hug to one another...Dylan trying to pick up Blake.

Family Pictures

Here are the pictures from James' camera.

This is the whole family.

Here are my folks, my Grandma, my brothers and their families (except Kristi)...and us of course.

Trip to CA Day 8

Tuesday was our last day. My aunt Jenny had flown in the day before with her family. They draw comics so they were there for ComiCon. They were staying with my Grandma, so we went over to see them.

Fox (age 11), Chloe (age 12, but almost 13) and Molly (age 9) are my cousins, but match well in age with the other boys. My grandma has a park right across the street from her house so the kids went and played while the adults chatted. It was fun to see them.

Grandma with some grandkids and great-grandkids.

Grandma with 2 of her daughters.

All the girls.

Great-Grandma with Blake and Dylan. She is 92 years old. She is slowing down a little bit, but she is doing awesome. She is so awesome and so thoughtful. She always sends the boys little cards in the mail, which makes their day. They love getting mail.

After we saw them we stopped by my old work to say hi. A lot of people were out of the office, but we still got to chat with some.

We came back and packed and the boys played. James and Shannon came over to say good bye then we went to the airport. We got home and Dylan immediately asked me, "Mom, when can we go to CA again?" I think we wore out Grandma and Grandpa, but we had so much fun. Thank you for having us. (It was torture getting off that plane at DFW at 9:30 at night and it was 90 degrees...welcome back to Texas huh?)
