First Day of (Virtual) School

August 13--They started school. I hope this is the only time we are able to take a 1st day of school picture with no backpack and no shoes on. No one likes virtual school--got that superintendents and governors???

Dylan's school starts at 8am. I take one kid running with me, then we eat breakfast, then go on a short walk with Dylan, then get Dylan started, then Blake and I go on a longer walk because he doesn't start until 8:45 and they need to get out and move before they sit and stare all day.

Dylan's teacher is Mrs. Brownrigg. On our meet the teacher zoom meeting she was dropping off her youngest daughter at University of Arkansas. How funny...we told her that we were just out there a month ago. Anyway, she is a great teacher. Blake didn't have her, but you kind hear things from other parents.

Blake has 7 periods. He has Pre AP Math, then Creed (this is a short class everyone has for 2nd period, which is kind of like a study hall), PE (and they actually do workouts virtually), science, history, Math Lab, ELAR and choir. He isn't done until 3:52 and Dylan is out at 3:07. They extended the day by 7 minutes so that we can end the school year earlier. They had that planned before COVID.

Dylan also had to do an actual workout for PE. Oh, and Dylan's other best friend, Jake, is in his class, so that is really all the Dylan cares about.
