Frontiers of Flight Museum

Last Thursday, we went to the Frontiers of Flight Museum that is right next to Dallas Love Airport. We were waiting for Cohen and Isaac to come over, so the boys rode their scooters because it wasn't blazing hot.

The museum is not huge, but really open which meant the boys ran around a lot. They were all so excited to be with their friends and to see airplanes. Robyn was telling Blake all about the astronauts. She used to serve in the Air Force, so she got to tell us some fun stories.

Blake is really into our country's flag. He thought it was great to see a huge American flag in the museum. I would agree with him.

The "pancake" plan.

Right outside the museum is the runway for Love, so the boys enjoyed seeing the airplanes take off. They had a speaker right next to these windows where you could hear what the air control tower was saying. I can't remember what it is called and Robyn would be sad that I can't remember, but we saw an aircraft that can be a helicopter and a plane. We saw that take off...super cool. We found out later that it was part of Obama's entourage. Obama flew into DFW the day before (DFW is really close to Love) and he flew out Thursday to Austin I think. One of the guys at the museum said Obama flew out of Love while we were there, but I didn't see Air Force One, but we did see his entourage. Either way, it was fun to see.

They also had a little kids area to play.

The boys up in the air control tower.

Dylan flying the plane.

Watching a plane movie. They didn't sit very long through that video.

They have a SW airplane that is half in the museum and half outside the museum. We ate lunch outside under the wing of an airplane. The boys thought that was super cool.

At one point Robyn was saying that we have a lot of boys...all with light hair. Later on I had the older 4 kids and Robyn was behind with Dace (a little boy that she nannies). One of the workers asked if I wanted to take my kids on the helicopter. Apparently all the boys could pass as being mine.

We couldn't pass up a chance to go in an army helicopter. It was from the 1960s. Dylan thinks he is being funny with his face.

Then they got in the back.

We are now inside the plan that is half inside the museum and half outside.

Blake being a pilot.
